Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid[ it] not to heart.

So he poured out on them his burning anger, the violence of war. It enveloped them in flames, yet they did not understand; it consumed them, but they did not take it to heart.

So he poured out his great anger on you. He had many of you killed in battle. You were surrounded by flames. But you didn’t realize what was happening. Many of you were destroyed. But you didn’t learn anything from it.

So he poured on him the heat of his anger and the might of battle; it set him on fire all around, but he did not understand; it burned him up, but he did not take it to heart.

Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth[ it] not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.

And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid[ it] to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?

The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth[ it] to heart: and merciful men[ are] taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil[ to come].

And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great[ man’s] house burnt he with fire.

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near[ me] with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments,[ but] that ye break my covenant:I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your[ high] ways shall be desolate.And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of[ my] covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.[ And] when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver[ you] your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye[ be] in your enemies’ land;[ even] then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.And upon them that are left[ alive] of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;And[ that] I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I[ am] the LORD their God.But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I[ am] the LORD.These[ are] the statutes and judgments and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay[ it] to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay[ it] to heart.

By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails[ were] like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.

O LORD,[ are] not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them,[ but] they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.

And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever:[ so] that thou didst not lay these[ things] to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.

Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and[ upon] them which worshipped his image.And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead[ man]: and every living soul died in the sea.And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous[ are] thy judgments.And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs[ come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles,[ which] go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed[ is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake,[ and] so great.And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven,[ every stone] about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.

Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations[ that] are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I[ am] the LORD that smiteth.

For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.

For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
