斯民必遭攘奪、囚於幽暗、拘於囹圄、既罹災害、無人拯之、既被俘囚、無人釋之、

彼為被擄掠遭強奪之民、囚於獄、拘於監、被刼掠無人救援、遭攘奪無人言反、

To hear the groaning of the prisoner, To release those appointed to death,

“ Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver:

For thus says the Lord GOD:“ My people went down at first Into Egypt to dwell there; Then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.Now therefore, what have I here,” says the Lord,“ That My people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them Make them wail,” says the Lord,“ And My name is blasphemed continually every day.

To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.

And it shall be That he who flees from the noise of the fear Shall fall into the pit, And he who comes up from the midst of the pit Shall be caught in the snare; For the windows from on high are open, And the foundations of the earth are shaken.

Which sends ambassadors by sea, Even in vessels of reed on the waters, saying,“ Go, swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth of skin, To a people terrible from their beginning onward, A nation powerful and treading down, Whose land the rivers divide.”

Now it came to pass in the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-fifth day of the month, that Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah and brought him out of prison.

“ But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her.For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people.And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

Now it came to pass in the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah and took them.

Your country is desolate, Your cities are burned with fire; Strangers devour your land in your presence; And it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

“ Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon Has devoured me, he has crushed me; He has made me an empty vessel, He has swallowed me up like a monster; He has filled his stomach with my delicacies, He has spit me out.Let the violence done to me and my flesh be upon Babylon,” The inhabitant of Zion will say;“ And my blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea!” Jerusalem will say.

Now it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army came against Jerusalem and encamped against it; and they built a siege wall against it all around.So the city was besieged until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.By the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, the famine had become so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.Then the city wall was broken through, and all the men of war fled and went out of the city at night by way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden, even though the Chaldeans were near the city all around. And they went by way of the plain.But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king, and they overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. All his army was scattered from him.So they took the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he pronounced judgment on him.Then the king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes. And he killed all the princes of Judah in Riblah.He also put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in bronze fetters, took him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it,saying,“ If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side,and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

I have raised him up in righteousness, And I will direct all his ways; He shall build My city And let My exiles go free, Not for price nor reward,” Says the Lord of hosts.

“ Israel is like scattered sheep; The lions have driven him away. First the king of Assyria devoured him; Now at last this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”

They will be gathered together, As prisoners are gathered in the pit, And will be shut up in the prison; After many days they will be punished.

All you beasts of the field, come to devour, All you beasts in the forest.
