“ But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Descendant of Abraham My friend,

惟你以色列我的仆人，雅各我所拣选的，我朋友亚伯拉罕的后裔，

“然而，以色列啊，你是我的仆人；雅各啊，你是我拣选的，是我朋友亚伯拉罕的后裔。

但你以色列，我的仆人啊！雅各，我所拣选、我朋友亚伯拉罕的后裔啊！

可是你，以色列啊，我的仆人！雅各啊，我所拣选的，我朋友亚伯拉罕的后裔！

惟你以色列－我的僕人，雅各－我所揀選的，我朋友亞伯拉罕的後裔，

「然而，以色列啊，你是我的僕人；雅各啊，你是我揀選的，是我朋友亞伯拉罕的後裔。

但你以色列，我的僕人啊！雅各，我所揀選、我朋友亞伯拉罕的後裔啊！

但你以色列、我的僕人、你雅各、我所揀選的、我朋友亞伯拉罕的後裔、

可是你，以色列啊，我的僕人！雅各啊，我所揀選的，我朋友亞伯拉罕的後裔！

我僕以色列、我所選之雅各、我友亞伯拉罕之裔歟、

昔我眷顧亞伯拉罕、簡其後裔、以色列族雅各家、為我臣僕。

惟爾以色列我之僕、我所選之雅各、我所眷愛亞伯拉罕之苗裔、

“ But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend,

The Lord says,“ People of Israel, you are my servants. Family of Jacob, I have chosen you. You are the children of my friend Abraham.

But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend;

“ But as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend,

But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham, my friend—

“ But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend.

But thou, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend,

But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham, My friend—

But thou, Israel,[ art] my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.

“ You, my servant Israel, Jacob whom I have chosen, offspring of Abraham my friend,

“ But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham my friend,

and the Scripture was fulfilled which says,“ And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.

For you are a holy people to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for His personal possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

Did You not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land from Your people Israel, and give it to the descendants of Your friend Abraham forever?

“ Remember these things, Jacob, And Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant, Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me.

Therefore this is what the Lord, who redeemed Abraham, says concerning the house of Jacob:“ Jacob will not be ashamed now, nor will his face turn pale now;

For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and one by the free woman.But the son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, and the son by the free woman through the promise.This is speaking allegorically, for these women are two covenants: one coming from Mount Sinai giving birth to children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar.Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is enslaved with her children.But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother.For it is written:“ Rejoice, infertile one, you who do not give birth; Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor; For the children of the desolate one are more numerous Than those of the one who has a husband.”And you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.But as at that time the son who was born according to the flesh persecuted the one who was born according to the Spirit, so it is even now.But what does the Scripture say?“ Drive out the slave woman and her son, For the son of the slave woman shall not be an heir with the son of the free woman.”So then, brothers and sisters, we are not children of a slave woman, but of the free woman.

“ But now listen, Jacob, My servant, And Israel, whom I have chosen:This is what the Lord says, He who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you:‘ Do not fear, Jacob My servant, And Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen for His own inheritance.

Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine;and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”

Look to Abraham your father And to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain; When he was only one I called him, Then I blessed him and multiplied him.”

You are My friends if you do what I command you.No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

They answered Him,“ We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say,‘ You will become free’?”Jesus answered them,“ Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.Now the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever.So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; yet you are seeking to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.I speak of the things which I have seen with My Father; therefore you also do the things which you heard from your father.”They answered and said to Him,“ Abraham is our father.” Jesus* said to them,“ If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham.But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do.You are doing the deeds of your father.” They said to Him,“ We were not born as a result of sexual immorality; we have one Father: God.”Jesus said to them,“ If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I came forth from God and am here; for I have not even come on My own, but He sent Me.Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot listen to My word.You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.

and do not assume that you can say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father’; for I tell you that God is able, from these stones, to raise up children for Abraham.

But now, this is what the Lord says, He who is your Creator, Jacob, And He who formed you, Israel:“ Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!

For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel as His own possession.

“ Have you not observed what these people have asserted, saying,‘ The two families which the Lord chose, He has rejected them’? So they despise My people as no longer being a nation in their sight.

For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us And Israel does not recognize us. You, Lord, are our Father, Our Redeemer from ancient times is Your name.

For He remembered His holy word With His servant Abraham;And He led out His people with joy, His chosen ones with a joyful shout.He also gave them the lands of the nations, So that they might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,And that they might keep His statutes And comply with His laws; Praise the Lord!

Yet the Lord set His affection on your fathers, to love them, and He chose their descendants after them, you over all the other peoples, as it is this day.

He said to Me,“ You are My Servant, Israel, In whom I will show My glory.”

“ Listen to Me, Jacob, Israel whom I called; I am He, I am the first, I am also the last.

For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His personal possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.“ The Lord did not make you His beloved nor choose you because you were greater in number than any of the peoples, since you were the fewest of all peoples,but because the Lord loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the Lord brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

For they are My servants whom I brought out from the land of Egypt; they are not to be sold in a slave sale.

You descendants of Abraham, His servant, You sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!

who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons and daughters, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the Law, the temple service, and the promises;whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but:“ through Isaac your descendants shall be named.”That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.

Why the Law then? It was added on account of the violations, having been ordered through angels at the hand of a mediator, until the Seed would come to whom the promise had been made.

and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also follow in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham which he had while uncircumcised.For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith.
