I look but there is no one— no one among the gods to give counsel, no one to give answer when I ask them.

于是那些术士、巫师、迦勒底人、观兆的都进来，我将那梦告诉他们，他们却不能把梦的解释告诉我。最后，但以理，就是按照我神明的名字称为伯提沙撒的，来到我面前，他里头有神圣神明的灵，我将梦告诉他：

我来的时候，为何没有人呢？我呼唤的时候，为何无人回应呢？我的膀臂岂是过短、不能救赎吗？我岂无拯救之力吗？看哪，我一斥责，海就干了；我使江河变为旷野，其中的鱼因无水腥臭，干渴而死。

迦勒底人回答王说：“世上没有人能解释王的事情；从来没有君王、大臣、掌权者向术士、巫师，或迦勒底人问过这样的事。王所问的事很难，除了不与血肉之躯同住的上帝，没有人能在王面前解释。”
