For I looked, and there was no man; I looked among them, but there was no counselor, Who, when I asked of them, could answer a word.

I look but there is no one— no one among the gods to give counsel, no one to give answer when I ask them.

I look, but there is no one among the gods that can give me advice. None of them can answer when I ask them the simplest question.

But when I look, there is no one; among these there is no counselor who, when I ask, gives an answer.

Not one of your idols told you this. Not one gave any answer when I asked.

Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, Or as His counselor has taught Him?With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him, And taught Him in the path of justice? Who taught Him knowledge, And showed Him the way of understanding?

He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.

Then the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers came in, and I told them the dream; but they did not make known to me its interpretation.But at last Daniel came before me( his name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god; in him is the Spirit of the Holy God), and I told the dream before him, saying:

Why, when I came, was there no man? Why, when I called, was there none to answer? Is My hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Indeed with My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness; Their fish stink because there is no water, And die of thirst.

The Chaldeans answered the king, and said,“ There is not a man on earth who can tell the king’s matter; therefore no king, Lord, or ruler has ever asked such things of any magician, astrologer, or Chaldean.It is a difficult thing that the king requests, and there is no other who can tell it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”
