我激動一個人從北方而起，他就來，從日出之地而來，他就呼求我的名；他必踐踏掌權者像踏泥土，像窰匠踹淤泥一樣。

“我从北方兴起一人；他是求告我名的，从日出之地而来。他必临到掌权的，好像临到灰泥，仿佛窑匠踹泥一样。

我从北方兴起一人，他从日出之地而来，是求告我名的；他必踩踏掌权者，如踩踏泥土，又如陶匠踹泥一般。

我使義人崛興、自北而至、亦在日出之鄉、以籲我名、糜爛牧伯、如匠人之擣土、如陶人之躪泥、

惟彼籲籲或作宣告我名者、我激之來自北方、自日出之鄉而至、以蹂躪侯伯、猶如泥土、如陶人之踐泥然、

“ I have stirred up one from the north, and he comes— one from the rising sun who calls on my name. He treads on rulers as if they were mortar, as if he were a potter treading the clay.

“ I have stirred up a king who will come from the north. He lives in the east. He will bring honor to me. He walks all over rulers as if they were mud. He steps on them just as a potter stomps on clay.

I stirred up one from the north, and he has come, from the rising of the sun, and he shall call upon my name; he shall trample on rulers as on mortar, as the potter treads clay.

“ But I have stirred up a leader who will approach from the north. From the east he will call on my name. I will give him victory over kings and princes. He will trample them as a potter treads on clay.

“ I have stirred up one from the north, and he has come, one from the east who invokes my name. He will march over rulers as if they were mud, like a potter who treads the clay.

“ I have put one from the north into motion, and he has come; From the rising of the sun he will call on My name; And he will come upon rulers as upon mortar, As the potter treads on clay.”

“ I have raised up one from the north, And he shall come; From the rising of the sun he shall call on My name; And he shall come against princes as though mortar, As the potter treads clay.

I have raised up one from the north, and he is come; from the rising of the sun one that calleth upon my name: and he shall come upon rulers as upon mortar, and as the potter treadeth clay.

“ I have raised up one from the north, and he has come, from the rising of the sun, one who calls on my name, and he shall come on rulers as on mortar, and as the potter treads clay.

誰激動了一個人從東方而起，使他步步碰到勝利，將列國交在他面前，使他制服君王；使他用刀屠碎他們如塵土，用弓射散他們如碎稭呢？

我搗碎他們，如地上的塵土；我打碎他們、加以踐踏、像街上的泥濘。

我打發他來攻擊不拜上帝之國，吩咐他來擊打我所惱怒的人民，來擄掠擄掠物，來掠劫掠劫物，使他們被踐踏、像街上的泥土一樣。

那時我的仇敵、就是那譏笑我說：『永恆主你的上帝在哪裏？』的、一看見，就必被慚愧籠罩着；我必親眼見到她遭報；這時她就被踐踏，如同街上的泥土。

他們一概都像勇士在戰陣上將仇敵踐踏在街上的泥土中；他們必爭戰，因為永恆主與他們同在；騎馬的兵也必失敗蒙羞。

是我，我憑着義氣激動了他，他所行的一切路、我必使它平直；是他要重建我的城；我流亡之民他要送來，不是為工價，不是為賞報』：這是萬軍之永恆主說的。

『你們要在境內豎起旌旗。在列邦中吹號角，使列邦行聖禮備戰來攻擊巴比倫，將亞拉臘、米尼、亞實基拿這些國召集來攻擊她；又派大元帥來擊打她，使馬匹上來像翅膀林立的蝻子。要使列國都行聖禮備戰來攻擊她哦，使瑪代王和她的巡撫跟省長、以及在她轄下的各地、都備戰來攻擊她。地震動而翻騰；因為永恆主責罰巴比倫的旨意立定不移，要使巴比倫之地荒涼，無人居住。

有個嚴厲冷酷的異象指示了我：那以詭詐行強暴的、還在以詭詐行強暴，那毁滅者還在行毁滅。以攔哪，上去哦！瑪代啊，圍困哦！使一切驕傲止息哦！

『波斯王古列這麼說：「永恆主天上的上帝已將地上萬國都賜給我，是他委派了我在猶大的耶路撒冷、為他建殿。你們中間凡做他子民的都可以上猶大的耶路撒冷——願他的上帝與他同在——去建造永恆主以色列之上帝的殿：只有他是上帝；他在耶路撒冷。

是那論到古列說：「他是我的牧人；他必完成我的旨意」，那論到耶路撒冷說：「它必重建起來」，那論到聖殿說：「你的根基必然扎定」的。』我永恆主所膏立的古列，我拉他的右手，使列國降服在他面前；列王的腰帶我必鬆開；我必使門戶在他面前敞開，使一切大門不得關閉：我永恆主對古列這麼說；『我必親自領導你，使道路平直；銅門我必打破，鐵閂我必砍斷；我必將暗中的財寶和隱密處的寶藏賜給你，使你知道是我永恆主、以色列之上帝、呼喚你的名召了你。為了我僕人雅各，我所揀選的以色列之緣故，我呼喚你的名召了你，將頭銜加給你，雖則你不認識我。我乃是永恆主，再沒有別的神了；除了我以外、並沒有上帝；你雖不認識我，我還給你束腰，好使人從日出之地到日落之處都知道我以外沒有別的神；我乃是永恆主，再沒有別的神了。

因為有一國從北方上來攻擊她，使她的地荒涼，無人居住；連人帶牲畜都逃跑走光。

我從起初就說出末後的事，從古時就言明未成的事，說：「我的計畫必立定，我所喜悅的、我都必作成」；就是召鷙鳥從東方而來，召我計畫中的人從遠地而到。我已說出，我必實現；我已制定，我必作成。
