「我使一人從北方興起，他來了，他在東方求告我的名。他必把掌權者像灰泥一樣踏在腳下，像窯匠踩泥一樣踐踏。

“我从北方兴起一人；他是求告我名的，从日出之地而来。他必临到掌权的，好像临到灰泥，仿佛窑匠踹泥一样。

我從北方興起一人；他從日出之地而來，他必呼求我的名。他必把掌權者像泥土一樣踐踏，如同陶匠踹踏陶泥。

我自北方興起一人、呼籲我名、彼自日出之鄉而至、將踐牧伯如土、若陶人之躪泥、

我使義人崛興、自北而至、亦在日出之鄉、以籲我名、糜爛牧伯、如匠人之擣土、如陶人之躪泥、

惟彼籲籲或作宣告我名者、我激之來自北方、自日出之鄉而至、以蹂躪侯伯、猶如泥土、如陶人之踐泥然、

“ I have stirred up one from the north, and he comes— one from the rising sun who calls on my name. He treads on rulers as if they were mortar, as if he were a potter treading the clay.

“ I have stirred up a king who will come from the north. He lives in the east. He will bring honor to me. He walks all over rulers as if they were mud. He steps on them just as a potter stomps on clay.

I stirred up one from the north, and he has come, from the rising of the sun, and he shall call upon my name; he shall trample on rulers as on mortar, as the potter treads clay.

“ But I have stirred up a leader who will approach from the north. From the east he will call on my name. I will give him victory over kings and princes. He will trample them as a potter treads on clay.

“ I have stirred up one from the north, and he has come, one from the east who invokes my name. He will march over rulers as if they were mud, like a potter who treads the clay.

“ I have put one from the north into motion, and he has come; From the rising of the sun he will call on My name; And he will come upon rulers as upon mortar, As the potter treads on clay.”

“ I have raised up one from the north, And he shall come; From the rising of the sun he shall call on My name; And he shall come against princes as though mortar, As the potter treads clay.

I have raised up one from the north, and he is come; from the rising of the sun one that calleth upon my name: and he shall come upon rulers as upon mortar, and as the potter treadeth clay.

“ I have raised up one from the north, and he has come, one from the east who invokes My name. He will march over rulers as if they were mud, like a potter who treads the clay.

I have stirred up one out of the north and he advances, one from the eastern horizon who prays in my name. He steps on rulers as if they were clay, like a potter treading the clay.

“ I have raised up one from the north, and he has come, from the rising of the sun, one who calls on my name, and he shall come on rulers as on mortar, and as the potter treads clay.

「誰使一人從東方興起？誰憑公義把他召到跟前？誰把列國交給他，使他征服列國的君王，用刀將他們化為塵土，用弓將他們淪為風吹的碎稭？

我把他們打得粉碎，如同地上的灰塵，踐踏他們，就像踐踏街上的泥土。

我要差遣他去攻打一個不虔敬的國家，一個惹我發怒的民族，去搶奪、擄掠他們的財物，像踐踏街上的泥土一樣踐踏他們。

從前嘲笑我說「你的上帝耶和華在哪裡」的仇敵看見這事，都必滿面羞愧。我必親眼看見他們遭到報應，他們要像街上的泥土一樣被人踐踏。

他們必像戰場上的勇士，將仇敵踐踏在街上的泥土中。他們必爭戰，因為耶和華與他們同在。他們必使敵方的騎兵蒙羞。

我憑公義使塞魯士王興起，我要讓他的道路暢通無阻。他必重建我的城，釋放我被擄的子民，不是為了得報酬或獎賞。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。」

「要在大地上豎起旌旗，在列國吹響號角，讓他們預備攻打巴比倫。要召集亞拉臘人、米尼人、亞實基拿人，使他們派遣將領率騎兵如蝗蟲一樣鋪天蓋地而來，攻打巴比倫。要讓列國預備攻打巴比倫，使瑪代的諸王及其省長、總督和所統治的人攻打巴比倫。大地要顫抖，痛苦地扭動，因為耶和華決意要攻擊巴比倫，使她荒無人煙。

我看見一個令人膽戰心驚的異象：「詭詐的在行詭詐，毀滅的在行毀滅。以攔人啊，攻打吧！瑪代人啊，圍城吧！耶和華必終止巴比倫帶來的痛苦。」

「波斯王塞魯士如此說，『天上的上帝耶和華已把天下萬國都賜給我，祂吩咐我在猶大的耶路撒冷為祂建造殿宇。你們當中凡是耶和華的子民，都可以去猶大的耶路撒冷，為住在耶路撒冷的以色列的上帝耶和華建殿，願上帝與他們同在！

我說塞魯士是我的牧人，他必完成我的旨意，他會下令重建耶路撒冷，降旨奠定聖殿的根基。「我耶和華膏立塞魯士為王，我牽著他的右手幫助他征服列國、降服列王；我使城門洞開，讓他通行無阻。我對他說，『我要走在你前面，為你鏟平高山，打破銅門，砍斷鐵閂。我要把隱藏的寶物和秘密收藏的財富賜給你，好叫你知道點名呼召你的是我——以色列的上帝耶和華。雖然你不認識我，但為了我的僕人雅各，我所揀選的以色列，我還是點名呼召你，賜給你一個尊貴的名號。我是獨一無二的耶和華，除我以外再沒有上帝。雖然你不認識我，但我還是賜你力量。這樣，從日出之地到日落之處，普天下都知道除我以外，別無他神，我耶和華獨一無二。

因為有一個來自北方的國家要攻擊它，使它荒涼、人畜絕跡。』」

我從太初就預言末後的事，從亙古就宣佈將來的事。我的旨意必成就，我的計劃必實現。我從東方召來鷙鳥，從遙遠的地方召人來成就我的計劃。我言出必行，必成就自己的計劃。
