“ Be silent before me, you islands! Let the nations renew their strength! Let them come forward and speak; let us meet together at the place of judgment.

The Lord says,“ People who live on the islands, come and stand quietly in front of me. Let the nations gain new strength in order to state their case. Let them come forward and speak. Let us go to court and find out who is right.

Listen to me in silence, O coastlands; let the peoples renew their strength; let them approach, then let them speak; let us together draw near for judgment.

“ Listen in silence before me, you lands beyond the sea. Bring your strongest arguments. Come now and speak. The court is ready for your case.

“ Be silent before me, coasts and islands! And let peoples renew their strength. Let them approach; let them testify; let’s come together for the trial.

“ Listen to Me in silence, you coastlands, And let the peoples gain new strength; Let them come forward, then let them speak; Let’s come together for judgment.

“ Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord,“ Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.

“ But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.”

Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for He is aroused from His holy habitation!”

Hear now what the Lord says:“ Arise, plead your case before the mountains, And let the hills hear your voice.Hear, O you mountains, the LORD’s complaint, And you strong foundations of the earth; For the Lord has a complaint against His people, And He will contend with Israel.“ O My people, what have I done to you? And how have I wearied you? Testify against Me.

Everyone helped his neighbor, And said to his brother,“ Be of good courage!”So the craftsman encouraged the goldsmith; He who smooths with the hammer inspired him who strikes the anvil, Saying,“ It is ready for the soldering”; Then he fastened it with pegs, That it might not totter.

It shall come to pass in that day That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time To recover the remnant of His people who are left, From Assyria and Egypt, From Pathros and Cush, From Elam and Shinar, From Hamath and the islands of the sea.

Come near, you nations, to hear; And heed, you people! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, The world and all things that come forth from it.

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Beat your plowshares into swords And your pruning hooks into spears; Let the weak say,‘ I am strong.’”Assemble and come, all you nations, And gather together all around. Cause Your mighty ones to go down there, O Lord.

“ Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me:“ Would you indeed annul My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified?Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His?Then adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, And array yourself with glory and beauty.

Oh, that I knew where I might find Him, That I might come to His seat!I would present my case before Him, And fill my mouth with arguments.I would know the words which He would answer me, And understand what He would say to me.Would He contend with me in His great power? No! But He would take note of me.There the upright could reason with Him, And I would be delivered forever from my Judge.

Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.

“ Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord GOD and His Spirit Have sent Me.”

Oh, that I had one to hear me! Here is my mark. Oh, that the Almighty would answer me, That my Prosecutor had written a book!Surely I would carry it on my shoulder, And bind it on me like a crown;

“ Be shattered, O you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Give ear, all you from far countries. Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces; Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces.Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; Speak the word, but it will not stand, For God is with us.”

“ Present your case,” says the Lord.“ Bring forth your strong reasons,” says the King of Jacob.“ Let them bring forth and show us what will happen; Let them show the former things, what they were, That we may consider them, And know the latter end of them; Or declare to us things to come.

He is near who justifies Me; Who will contend with Me? Let us stand together. Who is My adversary? Let him come near Me.

“ Listen, O coastlands, to Me, And take heed, you peoples from afar! The Lord has called Me from the womb; From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name.
