“ Be silent before me, you islands! Let the nations renew their strength! Let them come forward and speak; let us meet together at the place of judgment.

The Lord says,“ People who live on the islands, come and stand quietly in front of me. Let the nations gain new strength in order to state their case. Let them come forward and speak. Let us go to court and find out who is right.

Listen to me in silence, O coastlands; let the peoples renew their strength; let them approach, then let them speak; let us together draw near for judgment.

“ Listen in silence before me, you lands beyond the sea. Bring your strongest arguments. Come now and speak. The court is ready for your case.

“ Be silent before me, coasts and islands! And let peoples renew their strength. Let them approach; let them testify; let’s come together for the trial.

“ Listen to Me in silence, you coastlands, And let the peoples gain new strength; Let them come forward, then let them speak; Let’s come together for judgment.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

But the LORD[ is] in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.

Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.

Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD’S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.

They helped every one his neighbour; and[ every one] said to his brother, Be of good courage.So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith,[ and] he that smootheth[ with] the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It[ is] ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails,[ that] it should not be moved.

And it shall come to pass in that day,[ that] the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.

Be still, and know that I[ am] God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I[ am] strong.Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?Deck thyself now[ with] majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

Oh that I knew where I might find him![ that] I might come[ even] to his seat!I would order[ my] cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.I would know the words[ which] he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.Will he plead against me with[ his] great power? No; but he would put[ strength] in me.There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there[ am] I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.

Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire[ is, that] the Almighty would answer me, and[ that] mine adversary had written a book.Surely I would take it upon my shoulder,[ and] bind it[ as] a crown to me.

Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God[ is] with us.

Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong[ reasons], saith the King of Jacob.Let them bring[ them] forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they[ be], that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.

[ He is] near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who[ is] mine adversary? let him come near to me.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
