No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.

They are planted. They are scattered like seeds. They put down roots in the ground. But as soon as that happens, God blows on them and they dry up. Then a windstorm sweeps them away like straw.

Scarcely are they planted, scarcely sown, scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth, when he blows on them, and they wither, and the tempest carries them off like stubble.

列邦喧鬧，如同大水滔滔；但上帝一斥責，他們就遠遠躲避，他們被追趕，如同山上風前的糠粃，又如暴風前的碎稭；

耶和華說：『看哪，我必使災禍臨到你，把你除滅。以色列中凡屬亞哈的男丁，無論是奴役的、自由的，我都要剪除。我必使你的家像尼八的兒子耶羅波安的家，又像亞希雅的兒子巴沙的家，因為你惹我發怒，又使以色列陷入罪裏。』

因此，他們必如早晨的雲霧，又如速散的露水，如被狂風吹離禾場的糠粃，又如煙囪冒出的煙。

耶和華如此說：「要把這人登記為無子，是平生不得亨通的人；因為他後裔中再無一人得亨通，能坐在大衛的寶座上治理猶大。」

耶和華要顯現在他們身上，他的箭要射出如閃電。主耶和華必吹角，乘南方的旋風而行。

耶和華已經發命令，指着你說：「你的名下必不再留後；我要從你神明的廟中除滅雕刻的偶像和鑄造的偶像，我必因你的卑賤，為你預備墳墓。」

耶和華吹一口氣，草就枯乾，花也凋謝。百姓誠然是草；

我必以旋風將他們吹散到素不認識的萬國中。他們離開以後，地就荒涼，無人來往經過；他們使美好之地荒涼了。」

凡亞哈家在耶斯列所剩下的，他的大臣、密友、祭司，耶戶全都殺了，沒有留下一個倖存者。

耶和華的斥責一發，鼻孔的氣一出，海底就顯現，大地的根基也暴露。

他在弟兄中雖然旺盛，卻有東風颳來，就是耶和華的風從曠野上來。他的泉源必乾涸，他的源頭必枯竭，這風必奪走他所積蓄的一切寶物。

你們盼望多得，看哪，所得的卻少；你們收到家中，我就吹去。這是為甚麼呢？因為我的殿荒涼，你們各人卻只為自己的房屋奔走。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

下邊，他的根要枯乾；上邊，他的枝子要剪除。他的稱號從地上消失，他的名字不在街上存留。他必從光明中被驅逐到黑暗裏，他必被趕出世界。他在自己百姓中必無子無孫，在寄居之地也沒有倖存者。

你們用荊棘燒火，鍋還未熱，上帝就用旋風把未燒着的和已燒着的一齊颳去。

他不得脫離黑暗，火焰要把他的嫩枝燒乾；因上帝口中的氣，他要離去。不要讓他倚靠虛假，欺騙自己，因虛假必成為他的報應。他的日期未到之先，這事必實現；他的枝子不得青綠。他必像葡萄樹，葡萄未熟就掉落；又像橄欖樹，一開花就凋謝。

卻要以公義審判貧寒人，以正直判斷地上的困苦人，以口中的棍擊打全地，以嘴裏的氣殺戮惡人。

看哪！耶和華的暴風在震怒中發出，是旋轉的暴風，必轉到惡人頭上。

他們何嘗像風前的碎稭，如暴風颳去的糠粃呢？

為了祖先的罪孽，要預備他子孫的屠宰場，免得他們興起，奪得全地，使城市遍滿地面。」萬軍之耶和華說：「我必起來攻擊他們，將巴比倫的名號和剩餘的人，連子帶孫一併剪除；這是耶和華說的。

上帝一噓氣，他們就滅亡；上帝一發怒，他們就消失。

看哪，因為我必驚動他的心，他要聽見風聲就歸回本地，在那裏我必使他倒在刀下。』」

栽種的日子，你使它生長，栽種的早晨，你使它開花，但在愁苦、極其傷痛的日子，所收割的都歸無有。

原來陀斐特早已預備好了，是為君王預備的；又深又寬，堆滿了火和木柴；耶和華的氣息猶如一股硫磺使它燃起。
