誰升過天、又降下來呢？誰聚風於手心？誰包水在衣裳裏？誰立定了地的四極？他名叫甚麼？他的兒子名叫甚麼？你知道麼？

又說：『主啊，你起初立了地的根基，天也是你手的製造物；天地必滅沒，你卻長存；天地必像衣裳都漸漸故舊；你必將天地捲起來像外袍，天地就像衣裳改變了；惟獨你永遠一樣，你的年歲必無窮盡』。

你起初奠定了地的根基；天乃是你的手所造的。天地都必滅沒，你卻永遠存立；天地都必破掉如衣服；你更換天地像服裝，天地就過去了；

我的手奠定了大地，我的右手展鋪着諸天；我一呼喚它們，天地就一概站出來。

『上帝奠定大地時、你在哪裏？你若領會明達，只管訴說。你一定知道；是誰定地的尺度，是誰把準繩拉於地上。地的基礎奠於何物之上？地的角石是誰安放的？那時晨星一同呼喊，眾神子都歡呼。『大海衝出，從胎裏出來時，誰早設門戶將海閉住呢？那時我以雲彩當海的服裝，以暗霧當包裹的布；我為它定了界限，安設門閂門戶，說：「你只可到這裏，不可再進；你狂傲的波浪到這裏要止息住』？

那時永恆主還沒有造大地和原野，也未曾造世界上塵土之頭一團。他立定了天，我在那裏；他在深淵面上畫了天穹，使雲霄堅固於上面，使深淵的水泉穩定；

我看見有一個白色的大寶座和那坐在上面的；地和天都從他面前逃避了；再也找不着其位置了。

『上帝之浩大莫測、你能查出麼？全能者之無極、你能查到麼？天之高——你能作甚麼？深於陰間——你能知道甚麼？其量度、比地長，比海寬。

你披上亮光如衣裳；搭開諸天如幔子；你在水上立了樓閣棟梁，以雲彩為車輦，馭風的翅膀而行；

而為風定輕重，按分量支配眾水。
