    在那段时期,巴拉旦的儿子巴比伦王米罗达·巴拉旦听说了希西加患病又康复了,就给他送来书信和礼物。希西加对使者们的到来很欢喜,就给他们看他宝库里的金子、银子、香料、贵重的膏油,看他的整个武器库,以及他库房中能找到的一切。他家中和国中的所有东西,希西加没有一样不给他们看。于是先知以赛亚来到希西加王那里,问他:“那些人说了什么?他们是从哪里来见你的?”希西加回答:“他们是从遥远之地巴比伦来见我的。”以赛亚问:“在你的家中他们看了什么?”希西加回答:“我家中的所有东西,他们都看了;库房中的一切,我没有一样不给他们看。”以赛亚就对希西加说:“你要听万军之耶和华的话语:‘看哪!日子将要来到,你家中的一切,以及你祖先所积蓄到今日的一切,都要被掳到巴比伦去,一样也不留。’耶和华还说:‘从你而出的、你亲生的儿子们中,必有被带到巴比伦王宫中作太监的。’”希西加对以赛亚说:“你所说的耶和华的话甚好。”因为他想:“至少在我的年日里,必有平安和安稳。”
