“ Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds.In just a short time he will restore us, so that we may live in his presence.

King Hezekiah and the officials ordered the Levites to praise the Lord with the psalms written by David and by Asaph the seer. So they offered joyous praise and bowed down in worship.

Look now; I myself am he! There is no other god but me! I am the one who kills and gives life; I am the one who wounds and heals; no one can be rescued from my powerful hand!

Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from inside the fish.He said,“ I cried out to the Lord in my great trouble, and he answered me. Yes, in the tribe of Reuben there was great indecision.Gilead remained east of the Jordan. And why did Dan stay home? Asher sat unmoved at the seashore, remaining in his harbors.But Zebulun risked his life, as did Naphtali, on the heights of the battlefield.“ The kings of Canaan came and fought, at Taanach near Megiddo’s springs, but they carried off no silver treasures.The stars fought from heaven. The stars in their orbits fought against Sisera.The Kishon River swept them away— that ancient torrent, the Kishon. I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy.Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow.Then I called on the name of the Lord:“ Please, Lord, save me!”

For though he wounds, he also bandages. He strikes, but his hands also heal.

Some were fools; they rebelled and suffered for their sins.They couldn’t stand the thought of food, and they were knocking on death’s door.“ Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and sing joyfully about his glorious acts.
