For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

People in the grave can’t praise you. Dead people can’t sing praise to you. Those who go down to the grave can’t hope for you to be faithful to them.

For Sheol does not thank you; death does not praise you; those who go down to the pit do not hope for your faithfulness.

For the dead cannot praise you; they cannot raise their voices in praise. Those who go down to the grave can no longer hope in your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank you; Death cannot praise you. Those who go down to the Pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.

凡你手所当做的事，要尽力去做；因为在你所必须去的阴间没有工作，没有谋算，没有知识，也没有智慧。

因为死了的人不会记念你，在阴间有谁称谢你？

“我被害流血，下到地府，有何益处呢？尘土岂能称谢你、传扬你的信实吗？

他们和一切属他们的，都活活坠落阴间；地在他们上面又合拢起来，他们就从会众中灭亡了。

恶人因所行的恶必被推倒；义人临死，有所投靠。

这些人要往永刑里去；那些义人要往永生里去。”

除此之外，在你们和我们之间，有深渊隔开，以致人要从这边过到你们那边是不可能的；要从那边过到这边也是不可能的。’财主说：‘我祖啊，既然这样，求你打发拉撒路到我父家去，因为我还有五个兄弟，他可以警告他们，免得他们也来到这痛苦的地方。’亚伯拉罕说：‘他们有摩西和先知的话可以听从。’他说：‘不！我祖亚伯拉罕哪，假如有一个人从死人中到他们那里去，他们一定会悔改。’亚伯拉罕对他说：‘如果他们不听从摩西和先知的话，就是有人从死人中复活，他们也不会信服的。’”

本国的子民反而被赶到外边黑暗里去，在那里要哀哭切齿了。”

死人不能赞美耶和华，下到寂静中的也都不能。但我们要称颂耶和华，从今时直到永远。哈利路亚！

你岂要行奇事给死人看吗？阴魂还能起来称谢你吗？（细拉）你的慈爱岂能在坟墓里被人述说吗？你的信实岂能在冥府被人传扬吗？
