Like a shepherd’s tent my house has been pulled down and taken from me. Like a weaver I have rolled up my life, and he has cut me off from the loom; day and night you made an end of me.

My body is like a shepherd’s tent. It has been pulled down and carried off. My life is like a piece of cloth that I’ve rolled up. You have cut it off from the loom. In a short period of time you have brought my life to an end.

你要將天地捲起來，像一件外衣，天地就都改變了。惟有你永不改變；你的年數沒有窮盡。

因為，我終日遭災難；每早晨受懲治。

我們原知道，我們這地上的帳棚若拆毀了，必得神所造，不是人手所造，在天上永存的房屋。

雖有首領坐着妄論我，你僕人卻思想你的律例。

就是願神把我壓碎，伸手將我剪除。

出來如花，又被割下，飛去如影，不能存留。

我以為應當趁我還在這帳棚的時候提醒你們，激發你們；因為知道我脫離這帳棚的時候快到了，正如我們主耶穌基督所指示我的。

我們在這帳棚裏歎息勞苦，並非願意脫下這個，乃是願意穿上那個，好叫這必死的被生命吞滅了。

我的年日如日影偏斜；我也如草枯乾。

至於我，我曾急促地說：我從你眼前被隔絕。然而，我呼求你的時候，你仍聽我懇求的聲音。

其內必永無人煙，世世代代無人居住。阿拉伯人也不在那裏支搭帳棚；牧羊的人也不使羊羣臥在那裏。

其實明天如何，你們還不知道。你們的生命是甚麼呢？你們原來是一片雲霧，出現少時就不見了。

我也照樣經過困苦的日月，夜間的疲乏為我而定。我躺臥的時候便說：我何時起來，黑夜就過去呢？我盡是反來覆去，直到天亮。我的肉體以蟲子和塵土為衣；我的皮膚才收了口又重新破裂。我的日子比梭更快，都消耗在無指望之中。求你想念，我的生命不過是一口氣；我的眼睛必不再見福樂。

他使我的力量中道衰弱，使我的年日短少。我說：我的神啊，不要使我中年去世。你的年數世世無窮！

僅存錫安城，好像葡萄園的草棚，瓜田的茅屋，被圍困的城邑。

早晚之間，就被毀滅，永歸無有，無人理會。

我的心靈消耗，我的日子滅盡；墳墓為我預備好了。

你減少他青年的日子，又使他蒙羞。（細拉）耶和華啊，這要到幾時呢？你要將自己隱藏到永遠嗎？你的忿怒如火焚燒要到幾時呢？求你想念我的時候是何等的短少；你創造世人，要使他們歸何等的虛空呢？

我的日子比跑信的更快，急速過去，不見福樂。我的日子過去如快船，如急落抓食的鷹。
