I said: In the prime of my life I must go to the gates of Sheol; I am deprived of the rest of my years.

“我说：正在我中年之日必进入阴间的门；我余剩的年岁不得享受。

我说，在如日中天的时候我就走了，将剩余的年岁交给阴间的门。

我说，在如日中天的时候我就走了，将剩余的年岁交给阴间的门。

“我以为自己盛年之际，就要踏入阴间之门，不能享受余年。

我曾说：在我盛年之际，我竟要进入阴间之门；我余剩的年日，竟被夺去。

“我曾说：我如日中天就要进入阴间之门；我余剩的岁月竟被剥夺！

我說：正在我中年之日必進入陰間的門；我餘剩的年歲不得享受。

我說，在如日中天的時候我就走了，將剩餘的年歲交給陰間的門。

「我以為自己盛年之際，就要踏入陰間之門，不能享受餘年。

我曾說：在我盛年之際，我竟要進入陰間之門；我餘剩的年日，竟被奪去。

我心裏說：正當我中年之日我就不得不去世了；在我餘剩之年我就被交進陰間之門了。

「我曾說：我如日中天就要進入陰間之門；我餘剩的歲月竟被剝奪！

我嘗自謂、我日當午、將入陰府之門、絕我餘齡、

我享綏安之時、自謂壽齡將絕、必臨窀穸、

我自謂、正冀綏安時、乃將入示阿勒示阿勒見五章十四節小註之門、不得享我之餘年、

I said,“ In the prime of my life must I go through the gates of death and be robbed of the rest of my years?”

I said,“ I’m enjoying the best years of my life. Must I now go through the gates of death? Will the rest of my years be taken away from me?”

I said, In the middle of my days I must depart; I am consigned to the gates of Sheol for the rest of my years.

I said,“ In the prime of my life, must I now enter the place of the dead? Am I to be robbed of the rest of my years?”

I said,“ In the middle of my life I am to enter the gates of Sheol; I have been deprived of the rest of my years.”

I said,“ In the prime of my life I shall go to the gates of Sheol; I am deprived of the remainder of my years.”

I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of Sheol: I am deprived of the residue of my years.

I said: In the prime of my life I must go to the gates of Sheol; I am deprived of the rest of my years.

I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.

“ I thought,‘ In the middle of my life I must walk through the gates of Sheol, I am deprived of the rest of my years.’

I said,“ In the middle of my life I go into the gates of Sheol. I am deprived of the residue of my years.”

Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.

I say,“ My God, do not take me in the middle of my life! Your years continue through all generations.

Remember that my life is but a breath. My eye will never again see anything good.

In those days Hezekiah became terminally ill. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came and said to him,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ Set your house in order, for you are about to die; you will not recover.’”

My days have slipped by; my plans have been ruined, even the things dear to my heart.They turned night into day and made light seem near in the face of darkness.If I await Sheol as my home, spread out my bed in darkness,and say to corruption,“ You are my father,” and to the maggot,“ My mother” or“ My sister,”where then is my hope? Who can see any hope for me?Will it go down to the gates of Sheol, or will we descend together to the dust?

What strength do I have, that I should continue to hope? What is my future, that I should be patient?

They loathed all food and came near the gates of death.
