七月十七日，方舟停在亚拉腊山上。

耶和华就差遣一个天使进入亚述王营中，毁灭了所有的勇士、官长和将领。西拿基立只好满脸羞愧地返回自己的国家。趁他去他神明的庙里时，他的几个亲生儿子用刀杀了他。

“不要让你所倚靠的上帝愚弄你，说什么耶路撒冷必不会落在亚述王手中。
