and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. (niv)

They spoke about the God of Jerusalem as they did about the gods of the other peoples of the world— the work of human hands. (niv)

And the Lord sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons, his own flesh and blood, cut him down with the sword. (niv)

“ Say to Hezekiah king of Judah: Do not let the god you depend on deceive you when he says,‘ Jerusalem will not be given into the hands of the king of Assyria.’ (niv)

Who of all the gods of these nations that my predecessors destroyed has been able to save his people from me? How then can your god deliver you from my hand? (niv)

How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! (niv)

So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there.One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisrok, his sons Adrammelek and Sharezer killed him with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son succeeded him as king. (niv)
