Then the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty- five thousand in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning— there were all the dead bodies!

Then the angel of the Lord went into the camp of the Assyrians. He put to death 185,000 soldiers there. The people of Jerusalem got up the next morning. They looked out and saw all the dead bodies.

And the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. And when people arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.

That night the angel of the Lord went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere.

Then the angel of the LORD went out and struck down one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning, there were all the dead bodies!

就在那一天夜裏、永恆主的使者就出來，在亞述營中擊殺了十八萬五千人；第二天早晨、人清早起來，哎呀，都是死屍。

將來主在錫安山和耶路撒冷了結了他一切作為的時候，他必察罰亞述王心裏自大之表現和他眼目高傲之自炫。

天使向耶路撒冷伸手要殺滅城裏的人，永恆主就後悔、不降這災，便對那殺滅人民的天使說：『夠了；現在放手吧。』那時永恆主的使者在耶布斯人亞勞拿的禾場附近。

『亞述人必倒斃於刀下，可不是人的刀；必有刀、可不是人類的刀、要吞滅他；他必逃跑，卻逃不了刀劍，他的壯丁必作苦工。

永恆主就差遣了一個使者、在亞述王營中把一切有力氣英勇的人和將官及元帥、盡都抹除。亞述王滿面慚愧回他本地去。他進了他的神的廟，他親生的兒子在那裏用刀把他砍倒。這樣、永恆主就拯救了希西家和耶路撒冷的居民脫離亞述王西拿基立的手，也脫離一切仇敵的手；使他們四面平靜。

看吧，主萬軍之永恆主以可怕的震撼力砍削樹枝：身量高的必被砍下，高昂的必被伐低。森林的叢藪、他必用鐵器去斫伐；利巴嫩的樹、他必用斧子去伐倒。

列邦喧嚷，萬國動搖；上帝發聲，地便熔化。萬軍之永恆主和我們同在；雅各的上帝是我們的高壘。（細拉）你們來，觀看永恆主的作為，看他怎樣使地荒涼。他使戰事止息、到地儘邊；他將弓折毁，將矛砍斷，把戰車焚燒於火中。『你們要靜止勿動，要知道是我、上帝、要在列國中被尊為至高，在全地上被尊為高超。萬軍之永恆主和我們同在；雅各的上帝是我們的高壘。（細拉）

因此主萬軍之永恆主必打發消瘦去在亞述王的肥胖中，在他的威榮下就有燃燒燒起，如火燃燒一樣。以色列的光必成為火，他的聖者必成為火燄，一日之間就把亞述王的荊棘和蒺藜焚燬燒滅。又把他的樹林和園地之華美連魂帶體全都滅盡，他就像熔化之物之熔化一樣。他林中剩下的樹、數目必然稀少，就是小孩子也能記下來。

永恆主必使人聽他威嚴的聲音，使人看他膀臂之下擊，他忿怒中的震怒、和吞滅的火燄、傾盆大雨、暴風、冰雹。永恆主使杖擊打的時候，亞述人必因永恆主的聲音而驚慌。永恆主所加於他身上的懲罰之杖、每打一下，就有擊鼓彈琴的聲音；永恆主必用掄起來的打仗之手跟他交戰。因為有一個焚燒處早已安排好了，居然又是為了君王而豫備的，又深又寬；它堆的是火跟許多木柴；永恆主的氣如一條硫磺火流，把它點𤏲起來。

法老和眾臣僕、跟埃及眾人、夜裏起來：全埃及都大哀號，因為沒有一家不死一個人的。

但是他們被高舉不過片時，就沒有了；他們被降低，被收拾，跟眾人一樣；又如穗頭被割下。

因為永恆主要巡行、來擊死埃及人；他看見有血在門楣上和兩邊的門柱上，永恆主就會把那門越過去，不容那滅命者進你們的房屋來擊死你們。

願他們像風前的糠粃，有永恆主的使者在趕逐他們。願他們所行的路又暗又滑，有永恆主的使者在追趕他們。

心膽剛勇的人都被掠奪；他們睡了長覺，大有威力的人都不能有所措手。雅各的上帝啊，你的叱責一發出，坐車的和騎馬的都沉睡了。惟獨你可畏懼；誰能在你面前站得住你的怒氣呢？

惡人的歡躍就是短暫，不拜上帝之人的喜樂只是眨眼間麼？他的高貴雖上達於天，他的頭雖頂到雲霄，他總必永遠滅亡，像自己的糞一樣；素來見過他的都說：「他在哪裏呢？」

大衛舉目，看見了永恆主的使者在空中站着，手裏有拔出來的刀，在耶路撒冷上空伸着。大衛和長老們都披上麻布，臉伏於地。

因為你們自己明確地曉得主的日子就像個賊夜裏來到一樣。人正說平安穩妥的時候，就在那時、突來的死滅就臨到他們了——正如產難臨到懷孕的婦人一樣——他們斷不能逃脫。

或者是三年的饑荒；或者是在你敵人面前被掃滅，而你仇敵的刀追殺着你三個月；或者是遭永恆主的刀三天、就是在你國中有瘟疫，有永恆主的使者在以色列四境施行着殺滅。」現在你要看清楚我該用甚麼話去回覆那差遣我的。』

永恆主說：『現在我要起來；現在我要奮起；現在我要舉起自己。你們孕懷着乾草，產生了碎稭；你們的氣就是火、是那吞滅你們自己的。萬族之民必像石灰之焚燒，像割斷的荊條，在火中燒燬掉。』

主的使者立時擊打希律，因為他不將榮耀歸與上帝，他被蟲子咬，就氣絕了。
