Then the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty- five thousand in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning— there were all the dead bodies!

Then the angel of the Lord went into the camp of the Assyrians. He put to death 185,000 soldiers there. The people of Jerusalem got up the next morning. They looked out and saw all the dead bodies.

And the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. And when people arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.

That night the angel of the Lord went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere.

那天晚上，耶和華的使者出去，在亞述軍營殺了十八萬五千人。早上，他們起來的時候，看哪，到處都是死屍。

主在錫安山和耶路撒冷成全了他一切工作的時候，他必說：我要懲罰亞述王自大的心所結的果子，和他眼目高傲的態度。

當天使向耶路撒冷伸手，要毀滅耶路撒冷的時候，耶和華就後悔降這災禍，就對那毀滅眾民的天使說：“夠了，現在住手吧！”那時，耶和華的天使在耶布斯人亞勞拿的打禾場那裡。

亞述人必倒在刀下，不是人的刀；必有刀把他們吞滅，也不是人的刀。他們必不能逃避刀劍，他們的年輕人必作苦工。

耶和華就差派一位使者，進入亞述王的軍營中，把所有英勇的戰士、官長和將帥，盡都消滅了。亞述王滿面羞愧返回本國去了。他進入自己的神廟的時候，他親生的兒子在那裡用刀把他殺了。這樣，耶和華拯救了希西家和耶路撒冷的居民，脫離了亞述王西拿基立的手，和其他仇敵的手，又使他們四境平安。

看哪！主萬軍之耶和華在可怕的震撼聲中，把樹枝削去；身量高的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒。樹林中的密叢，他必用鐵器砍下；黎巴嫩的樹木必被大能者伐倒。

列邦喧嚷，萬國動搖；神一發聲，地就融化。萬軍之耶和華與我們同在；雅各的神是我們的保障。（細拉）你們都來，看耶和華的作為，看他怎樣使地荒涼。他使戰爭止息，直到地極；他把弓折毀，把矛砍斷，把戰車用火焚燒。你們要住手，要知道我是神；我要在列國中被尊崇，我要在全地上被尊崇。萬軍之耶和華與我們同在；雅各的神是我們的保障。（細拉）

因此，主萬軍之耶和華必打發令人消瘦的病臨到亞述王肥壯的軍人中間，在他的榮耀之下必燃起火燄，如同火燒一樣。以色列的光必變成火，他的聖者必成為火燄；在一日之間把亞述王的荊棘和蒺藜焚燒與吞滅。又把他樹林和豐盛果園的榮美全部滅盡，包括靈魂和身體，好像一個患病的人漸漸虛弱一樣。他林中剩下的樹，數目必定稀少，連小孩子也能把它們的數目寫下來。

耶和華必使人聽見他威嚴的聲音，在烈怒、吞滅一切火燄、大雨、暴風和冰雹之中，又使人看見他那降下來的膀臂。亞述人必因耶和華的聲音驚惶；耶和華要用杖擊打他們。耶和華必把刑罰的杖加在他們身上，每打一下，都有擊鼓和彈琴的聲音；耶和華在爭戰的時候，必揮動著手與他們爭戰。因為陀斐特那燒著的火早已安排好了，是為君王預備的，又深又寬；其中所堆的，是火和許多的柴；耶和華的氣像一股硫磺火，把它燃點起來。

在那一夜，法老本人和他所有的臣僕，以及全埃及的人都起來了；在埃及有極大的哀號，因為沒有一家不死人的。

他們被高舉不過片時，就沒有了，他們降為卑，如眾人一樣被收拾起來，他們又如穀穗枯乾。

因為耶和華要走遍各處擊打埃及人；他一看見門楣和兩邊的門柱上有血，就越過那門，不讓那毀滅者進入你們的房屋來擊殺你們。

願他們像風前的糠秕，有耶和華的使者驅逐他們。願他們的路又暗又滑，有耶和華的使者追趕他們。

心裡勇敢的人都被搶掠，他們長睡不起；所有大能的勇士都無力舉手。雅各的神啊！因你的斥責，坐車的和騎馬的都沉睡了。唯有你是可畏的，你的烈怒一發出，誰能在你面前站立得住呢？

惡人的歡呼並不長久，不敬虔者的快樂，不過是暫時的嗎？雖然他的高貴上達於天，他的頭直插雲霄，他必永遠滅亡像自己的糞一般，素來看見他的，都要說：‘他在哪裡呢？’

大衛舉目看見耶和華的使者站在天地之間，手裡拿著出了鞘的刀，指向耶路撒冷。大衛和眾長老都穿上麻布，臉伏於地。

因為你們自己清楚知道，主的日子來到，就像夜間的賊來到一樣。人正在說平安穩妥的時候，毀滅性的災禍就突然臨到他們，好像生產的痛苦臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕不能逃脫。

或是三年的饑荒；或是在你敵人面前逃亡，被你仇敵的刀劍追殺三個月；或是耶和華的刀攻擊三天，就是在國中發生瘟疫三日，耶和華的使者在以色列的四境施行毀滅。’現在你考慮一下，我該用甚麼話回覆那差派我來的。”

耶和華說：“現在我要起來，現在我要興起，現在我要被人尊崇。你們所懷的是糠秕，所生的是碎稭；我的氣息必像火一般吞滅你們。眾民必像燃燒的石灰，又像被割下的荊棘，在火中焚燒。

他不歸榮耀給神，所以主的使者立刻擊打他，他被蟲咬，就斷了氣。
