this is the word the Lord has spoken against him:“ Virgin Daughter Zion despises and mocks you. Daughter Jerusalem tosses her head as you flee.

So here is the message the Lord has spoken against him. The Lord is telling him,“‘ “You will not win the battle over Zion. Its people hate you and make fun of you. The people of Jerusalem lift up their heads proudly as you run away.

the Lord has spoken this word against him:“ The virgin daughter of Zion despises you and laughs at you. The daughter of Jerusalem shakes her head in derision as you flee.

this is the word the LORD has spoken against him: Virgin Daughter Zion despises you and scorns you; Daughter Jerusalem shakes her head behind your back.

this is the word that the Lord has spoken against him:“ She has shown contempt for you and derided you, The virgin daughter of Zion; The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head behind you!

this is the word which Jehovah hath spoken concerning him: The virgin daughter of Zion hath despised thee and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

This[ is] the word which the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee,[ and] laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

this is what the LORD says about him:“ The virgin daughter Zion despises you– she makes fun of you; daughter Jerusalem shakes her head after you.

this is the word which Yahweh has spoken concerning him. The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.

I also could speak as you do, if you were in my place; I could join words together against you and shake my head at you.

What can I say for you, to what compare you, O daughter of Jerusalem? What can I liken to you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For your ruin is vast as the sea; who can heal you?

Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in your midst, declares the Lord.

that I may recount all your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in your salvation.

“ You shall say to them this word:‘ Let my eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease, for the virgin daughter of my people is shattered with a great wound, with a very grievous blow.

And the daughter of Zion is left like a booth in a vineyard, like a lodge in a cucumber field, like a besieged city.

Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!

Let the lying lips be mute, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

“ The Lord rejected all my mighty men in my midst; he summoned an assembly against me to crush my young men; the Lord has trodden as in a winepress the virgin daughter of Judah.

Be broken, you peoples, and be shattered; give ear, all you far countries; strap on your armor and be shattered; strap on your armor and be shattered.Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.

Bring down your warriors, O Lord.Let the nations stir themselves up and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.

Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.”

“ Fallen, no more to rise, is the virgin Israel; forsaken on her land, with none to raise her up.”

Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion,“ Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.”

“ Say to the daughter of Zion,‘ Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”

All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;“ He trusts in the Lord; let him deliver him; let him rescue him, for he delights in him!”

This very day he will halt at Nob; he will shake his fist at the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. SelahThere is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High.God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts.The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,“ Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.”He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.

And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads

And he said:“ You will no more exult, O oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon; arise, cross over to Cyprus, even there you will have no rest.”
