And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered[ it for] a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.

And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD,[ it is] nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou[ art] our God; let not man prevail against thee.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who[ am] I, O Lord GOD? and what[ is] my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant’s house for a great while to come. And[ is] this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.For thy word’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know[ them].Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for[ there is] none like thee, neither[ is there any] God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.And what one nation in the earth[ is] like thy people,[ even] like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt,[ from] the nations and their gods?For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel[ to be] a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish[ it] for ever, and do as thou hast said.And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts[ is] the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.And now, O Lord GOD, thou[ art] that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken[ it]: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.

And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest[ between] the cherubims, thou art the God,[ even] thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,And have cast their gods into the fire: for they[ were] no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou[ art] the LORD God,[ even] thou only.

And said, O LORD God of our fathers,[ art] not thou God in heaven? and rulest[ not] thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand[ is there not] power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?[ Art] not thou our God,[ who] didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,If,[ when] evil cometh upon us,[ as] the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence,( for thy name[ is] in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;Behold,[ I say, how] they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes[ are] upon thee.

And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
