那幾個痲瘋病人到了營地，走進一個帳篷，又吃又喝，把那裡的金銀和衣服拿走收藏起來，再回來進入另一個帳篷，把財物拿走收藏起來。

但上帝揀選了世人看為愚昧的，要使智者羞愧；上帝揀選了世上軟弱的，要使強者蒙羞；

「眾王和他們的軍隊逃走了，逃走了！」以色列的婦女都在分戰利品。

在那裡，威嚴的耶和華必與我們同在。那裡必如巨川大河流經之地，敵人的大小船隻都無法穿過。

他們的戰利品必被拿走，就像穀物被蝗蟲吃掉一樣；人們像蝗蟲一樣撲向他們的戰利品。

你們這些毀滅別人、自己還未被毀滅的人有禍了！等你們毀滅完了，就毀滅你們。你們這些欺詐別人、自己還未被欺詐的人有禍了！等你們欺詐完了，就欺詐你們。

水手們想要棄船逃生，假裝要從船頭拋錨，卻偷偷地把救生船放到海裡。保羅對百夫長和士兵們說：「除非他們留下來，否則你們都活不了！」士兵聽了，就砍斷繩索，讓救生船漂走。

於是，民眾出城搶掠亞蘭人的營地。那時，三公斤細麵粉只賣十一克銀子，六公斤大麥也只賣十一克銀子，正如耶和華所言。

約沙法和他的百姓前去拾財物，發現屍體中有許多財物、衣服和貴重物品，多得拿不完。他們拾了三天才拾完。

於是砍斷錨索，把錨丟在海裡，鬆開舵繩，升起前帆，順著風勢駛向那沙灘。可是，遇到兩流交匯的水域，就在那裡擱了淺，船頭卡在那裡不能動彈，船尾被大浪撞裂了。

船夫把你搖到汪洋之中，但東風要把你擊碎在海中。你的財富、貨物、商品、水手、舵手、縫匠、客商、戰士和人民在你傾覆的日子都要沉到深海裡。你舵手的哀號聲必震動海岸，所有的船夫、水手、舵手都必棄船登岸，為你放聲痛哭，把塵埃撒在頭上，在灰中打滾，又為你剃頭披麻，悲痛哀傷。他們在痛哭中為你唱起哀歌，哀悼你說，有哪一座城像泰爾一樣在深海中銷聲匿跡呢？你的貨物由海上運出，滿足了許多國家；你的資財和貨物使地上的君王富裕。然而，如今你在汪洋中被海浪擊碎，你的貨物和人民都一同沉沒了。

第三天，他們又親手把船上的用具也拋掉了。

大衛隨從中那些不良分子說：「他們沒有跟我們一起去打仗，我們搶回來的東西不應分給他們，只讓他們帶走自己的妻子和兒女就好了。」大衛說：「弟兄們，這一切是耶和華賜給我們的，我們不可不分給他們，因為是耶和華保護我們，把敵人交在了我們手裡。誰能接受你們的說法呢？上陣打仗的和看守裝備的應該得到一樣的待遇。」
