那几个麻风病人到了营地，走进一个帐篷，又吃又喝，把那里的金银和衣服拿走收藏起来，再回来进入另一个帐篷，把财物拿走收藏起来。

但上帝拣选了世人看为愚昧的，要使智者羞愧；上帝拣选了世上软弱的，要使强者蒙羞；

“众王和他们的军队逃走了，逃走了！”以色列的妇女都在分战利品。

在那里，威严的耶和华必与我们同在。那里必如巨川大河流经之地，敌人的大小船只都无法穿过。

他们的战利品必被拿走，就像谷物被蝗虫吃掉一样；人们像蝗虫一样扑向他们的战利品。

你们这些毁灭别人、自己还未被毁灭的人有祸了！等你们毁灭完了，就毁灭你们。你们这些欺诈别人、自己还未被欺诈的人有祸了！等你们欺诈完了，就欺诈你们。

水手们想要弃船逃生，假装要从船头抛锚，却偷偷地把救生船放到海里。保罗对百夫长和士兵们说：“除非他们留下来，否则你们都活不了！”士兵听了，就砍断绳索，让救生船漂走。

于是，民众出城抢掠亚兰人的营地。那时，三公斤细面粉只卖十一克银子，六公斤大麦也只卖十一克银子，正如耶和华所言。

约沙法和他的百姓前去拾财物，发现尸体中有许多财物、衣服和贵重物品，多得拿不完。他们拾了三天才拾完。

于是砍断锚索，把锚丢在海里，松开舵绳，升起前帆，顺着风势驶向那沙滩。可是，遇到两流交汇的水域，就在那里搁了浅，船头卡在那里不能动弹，船尾被大浪撞裂了。

船夫把你摇到汪洋之中，但东风要把你击碎在海中。你的财富、货物、商品、水手、舵手、缝匠、客商、战士和人民在你倾覆的日子都要沉到深海里。你舵手的哀号声必震动海岸，所有的船夫、水手、舵手都必弃船登岸，为你放声痛哭，把尘埃撒在头上，在灰中打滚，又为你剃头披麻，悲痛哀伤。他们在痛哭中为你唱起哀歌，哀悼你说，有哪一座城像泰尔一样在深海中销声匿迹呢？你的货物由海上运出，满足了许多国家；你的资财和货物使地上的君王富裕。然而，如今你在汪洋中被海浪击碎，你的货物和人民都一同沉没了。

第三天，他们又亲手把船上的用具也抛掉了。

大卫随从中那些不良分子说：“他们没有跟我们一起去打仗，我们抢回来的东西不应分给他们，只让他们带走自己的妻子和儿女就好了。”大卫说：“弟兄们，这一切是耶和华赐给我们的，我们不可不分给他们，因为是耶和华保护我们，把敌人交在了我们手里。谁能接受你们的说法呢？上阵打仗的和看守装备的应该得到一样的待遇。”
