蓋愚魯者出言愚昧、心懷妄為、致行邪僻、謬言以逆耶和華、使飢者枵腹、渴者絕飲、

頑嚚者流、出於口則悖逆、藏於心則不軌、所行奸偽、所言誕妄、上逆耶和華、下使民饑渴、

蓋愚妄者必出愚妄之言、心藏惡念、事行奸邪、謗言逆主、使饑者不得所食、渴者不得所飲、

For fools speak folly, their hearts are bent on evil: They practice ungodliness and spread error concerning the Lord; the hungry they leave empty and from the thirsty they withhold water.

Foolish people say foolish things. Their minds are set on doing evil things. They don’t do what is right. They tell lies about the Lord. They don’t give hungry people any food. They don’t let thirsty people have any water.

For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the Lord, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink.

For fools speak foolishness and make evil plans. They practice ungodliness and spread false teachings about the Lord. They deprive the hungry of food and give no water to the thirsty.

For a fool speaks foolishness and his mind plots iniquity. He lives in a godless way and speaks falsely about the LORD. He leaves the hungry empty and deprives the thirsty of drink.

For a fool speaks nonsense, And his heart inclines toward wickedness: To practice ungodliness and to speak error against the Lord, To keep the hungry person unsatisfied And to withhold drink from the thirsty.

For the foolish person will speak foolishness, And his heart will work iniquity: To practice ungodliness, To utter error against the Lord, To keep the hungry unsatisfied, And he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

For a fool speaks disgraceful things; his mind plans out sinful deeds. He commits godless deeds and says misleading things about the LORD; he gives the hungry nothing to satisfy their appetite and gives the thirsty nothing to drink.

As the proverb of the ancients says,‘ Out of the wicked comes wickedness;’ but my hand will not be on you.

There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.

What do you mean that you crush my people, and grind the face of the poor?” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies.

Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is profane and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

Do you indeed speak righteousness, silent ones? Do you judge blamelessly, you sons of men?No, in your heart you plot injustice. You measure out the violence of your hands in the earth.

There are people who remove the landmarks. They violently take away flocks, and feed them.They drive away the donkey of the fatherless, and they take the widow’s ox for a pledge.They turn the needy out of the way. The poor of the earth all hide themselves.Behold, as wild donkeys in the desert, they go out to their work, seeking diligently for food. The wilderness yields them bread for their children.They cut their food in the field. They glean the vineyard of the wicked.They lie all night naked without clothing, and have no covering in the cold.They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for lack of a shelter.There are those who pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor,So that they go around naked without clothing. Being hungry, they carry the sheaves.They make oil within the walls of these men. They tread wine presses, and suffer thirst.From out of the populous city, men groan. The soul of the wounded cries out, yet God doesn’t regard the folly.“ These are of those who rebel against the light. They don’t know its ways, nor stay in its paths.The murderer rises with the light. He kills the poor and needy. In the night he is like a thief.The eye also of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying,‘ No eye will see me.’ He disguises his face.In the dark they dig through houses. They shut themselves up in the daytime. They don’t know the light.

Woe to those who devise iniquity and work evil on their beds! When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.They covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Then may you also do good, who are accustomed to do evil.

The foolishness of man subverts his way; his heart rages against Yahweh.

Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

Yahweh says:“ For three transgressions of Israel, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals;They trample on the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and deny justice to the oppressed; and a man and his father use the same maiden, to profane my holy name;

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.

You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.The good man out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings out evil things.I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

But Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the price of the land?While you kept it, didn’t it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn’t it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven’t lied to men, but to God.”

I said,“ Please listen, you heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: Isn’t it for you to know justice?You who hate the good, and love the evil; who tear off their skin, and their flesh from off their bones;who also eat the flesh of my people, and peel their skin from off them, and break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as meat within the cauldron.

You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart isn’t right before God.Repent therefore of this, your wickedness, and ask God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

For they have prepared their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their baker sleeps all the night. In the morning it burns as a flaming fire.They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen. There is no one among them who calls to me.

Neither is there any end to your iniquities.For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing.You haven’t given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.But as for the mighty man, he had the earth. The honorable man, he lived in it.You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest!And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
