For the foolish person will speak foolishness, And his heart will work iniquity: To practice ungodliness, To utter error against the Lord, To keep the hungry unsatisfied, And he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

因為愚頑人說話愚頑，心懷邪惡，行不敬虔的事，說錯謬的話攻擊耶和華，使飢餓的無食可吃，使口渴的無水可喝；

蓋愚魯者出言愚昧、心懷妄為、致行邪僻、謬言以逆耶和華、使飢者枵腹、渴者絕飲、

頑嚚者流、出於口則悖逆、藏於心則不軌、所行奸偽、所言誕妄、上逆耶和華、下使民饑渴、

蓋愚妄者必出愚妄之言、心藏惡念、事行奸邪、謗言逆主、使饑者不得所食、渴者不得所飲、

For fools speak folly, their hearts are bent on evil: They practice ungodliness and spread error concerning the Lord; the hungry they leave empty and from the thirsty they withhold water.

Foolish people say foolish things. Their minds are set on doing evil things. They don’t do what is right. They tell lies about the Lord. They don’t give hungry people any food. They don’t let thirsty people have any water.

For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the Lord, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink.

For fools speak foolishness and make evil plans. They practice ungodliness and spread false teachings about the Lord. They deprive the hungry of food and give no water to the thirsty.

For a fool speaks foolishness and his mind plots iniquity. He lives in a godless way and speaks falsely about the LORD. He leaves the hungry empty and deprives the thirsty of drink.

For a fool speaks nonsense, And his heart inclines toward wickedness: To practice ungodliness and to speak error against the Lord, To keep the hungry person unsatisfied And to withhold drink from the thirsty.

For the fool will speak folly, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise profaneness, and to utter error against Jehovah, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

For a fool speaks disgraceful things; his mind plans out sinful deeds. He commits godless deeds and says misleading things about the LORD; he gives the hungry nothing to satisfy their appetite and gives the thirsty nothing to drink.

For the fool will speak folly, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice profanity, and to utter error against Yahweh, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

As the proverb of the ancients says,‘ Wickedness proceeds from the wicked.’ But my hand shall not be against you.

There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty.The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.The people will curse him who withholds grain, But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.

What do you mean by crushing My people And grinding the faces of the poor?” Says the Lord GOD of hosts.

Therefore the Lord will have no joy in their young men, Nor have mercy on their fatherless and widows; For everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, And every mouth speaks folly. For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.

Do you indeed speak righteousness, you silent ones? Do you judge uprightly, you sons of men?No, in heart you work wickedness; You weigh out the violence of your hands in the earth.

“ Some remove landmarks; They seize flocks violently and feed on them;They drive away the donkey of the fatherless; They take the widow’s ox as a pledge.They push the needy off the road; All the poor of the land are forced to hide.Indeed, like wild donkeys in the desert, They go out to their work, searching for food. The wilderness yields food for them and for their children.They gather their fodder in the field And glean in the vineyard of the wicked.They spend the night naked, without clothing, And have no covering in the cold.They are wet with the showers of the mountains, And huddle around the rock for want of shelter.“ Some snatch the fatherless from the breast, And take a pledge from the poor.They cause the poor to go naked, without clothing; And they take away the sheaves from the hungry.They press out oil within their walls, And tread winepresses, yet suffer thirst.The dying groan in the city, And the souls of the wounded cry out; Yet God does not charge them with wrong.“ There are those who rebel against the light; They do not know its ways Nor abide in its paths.The murderer rises with the light; He kills the poor and needy; And in the night he is like a thief.The eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, Saying,‘ No eye will see me’; And he disguises his face.In the dark they break into houses Which they marked for themselves in the daytime; They do not know the light.

Woe to those who devise iniquity, And work out evil on their beds! At morning light they practice it, Because it is in the power of their hand.They covet fields and take them by violence, Also houses, and seize them. So they oppress a man and his house, A man and his inheritance.

Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil.

The foolishness of a man twists his way, And his heart frets against the Lord.

That we may buy the poor for silver, And the needy for a pair of sandals— Even sell the bad wheat?”

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they sell the righteous for silver, And the poor for a pair of sandals.They pant after the dust of the earth which is on the head of the poor, And pervert the way of the humble. A man and his father go in to the same girl, To defile My holy name.

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

But Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

And I said:“ Hear now, O heads of Jacob, And you rulers of the house of Israel: Is it not for you to know justice?You who hate good and love evil; Who strip the skin from My people, And the flesh from their bones;Who also eat the flesh of My people, Flay their skin from them, Break their bones, And chop them in pieces Like meat for the pot, Like flesh in the caldron.”

You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God.Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

They prepare their heart like an oven, While they lie in wait; Their baker sleeps all night; In the morning it burns like a flaming fire.They are all hot, like an oven, And have devoured their judges; All their kings have fallen. None among them calls upon Me.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

Then Nabal answered David’s servants, and said,“ Who is David, and who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants nowadays who break away each one from his master.Shall I then take my bread and my water and my meat that I have killed for my shearers, and give it to men when I do not know where they are from?”

Is not your wickedness great, And your iniquity without end?For you have taken pledges from your brother for no reason, And stripped the naked of their clothing.You have not given the weary water to drink, And you have withheld bread from the hungry.But the mighty man possessed the land, And the honorable man dwelt in it.You have sent widows away empty, And the strength of the fatherless was crushed.

Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

“ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
