蓋愚魯者出言愚昧、心懷妄為、致行邪僻、謬言以逆耶和華、使飢者枵腹、渴者絕飲、

頑嚚者流、出於口則悖逆、藏於心則不軌、所行奸偽、所言誕妄、上逆耶和華、下使民饑渴、

蓋愚妄者必出愚妄之言、心藏惡念、事行奸邪、謗言逆主、使饑者不得所食、渴者不得所飲、

For fools speak folly, their hearts are bent on evil: They practice ungodliness and spread error concerning the Lord; the hungry they leave empty and from the thirsty they withhold water.

Foolish people say foolish things. Their minds are set on doing evil things. They don’t do what is right. They tell lies about the Lord. They don’t give hungry people any food. They don’t let thirsty people have any water.

For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the Lord, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink.

For fools speak foolishness and make evil plans. They practice ungodliness and spread false teachings about the Lord. They deprive the hungry of food and give no water to the thirsty.

For a fool speaks nonsense, And his heart inclines toward wickedness: To practice ungodliness and to speak error against the Lord, To keep the hungry person unsatisfied And to withhold drink from the thirsty.

For the foolish person will speak foolishness, And his heart will work iniquity: To practice ungodliness, To utter error against the Lord, To keep the hungry unsatisfied, And he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

As the old proverb says,‘ Wickedness comes from wicked people.’ My hand will never be against you.

One person gives freely, yet gains more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor.A generous person will be enriched, and the one who gives a drink of water will receive water.People will curse anyone who hoards grain, but a blessing will come to the one who sells it.

Why do you crush my people and grind the faces of the poor?” This is the declaration of the Lord GOD of Armies.

Therefore the Lord does not rejoice over Israel’s young men and has no compassion on its fatherless and widows, for everyone is a godless evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. In all this, his anger has not turned away, and his hand is still raised to strike.

Do you really speak righteously, you mighty ones? Do you judge people fairly?No, you practice injustice in your hearts; with your hands you weigh out violence in the land.

The wicked displace boundary markers. They steal a flock and provide pasture for it.They drive away the donkeys owned by the fatherless and take the widow’s ox as collateral.They push the needy off the road; the poor of the land are forced into hiding.Like wild donkeys in the wilderness, the poor go out to their task of foraging for food; the desert provides nourishment for their children.They gather their fodder in the field and glean the vineyards of the wicked.Without clothing, they spend the night naked, having no covering against the cold.Drenched by mountain rains, they huddle against the rocks, shelterless.The fatherless infant is snatched from the breast; the nursing child of the poor is seized as collateral.Without clothing, they wander about naked. They carry sheaves but go hungry.They crush olives in their presses; they tread the winepresses, but go thirsty.From the city, men groan; the mortally wounded cry for help, yet God pays no attention to this crime.The wicked are those who rebel against the light. They do not recognize its ways or stay on its paths.The murderer rises at dawn to kill the poor and needy, and by night he becomes a thief.The adulterer’s eye watches for twilight, thinking,“ No eye will see me,” and he covers his face.In the dark they break into houses; by day they lock themselves in, never experiencing the light.

Woe to those who dream up wickedness and prepare evil plans on their beds! At morning light they accomplish it because the power is in their hands.They covet fields and seize them; they also take houses. They deprive a man of his home, a person of his inheritance.

Can the Cushite change his skin, or a leopard his spots? If so, you might be able to do what is good, you who are instructed in evil.

A person’s own foolishness leads him astray, yet his heart rages against the LORD.

We can buy the poor with silver and the needy for a pair of sandals and even sell the chaff!”

Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

The LORD says: I will not relent from punishing Israel for three crimes, even four, because they sell a righteous person for silver and a needy person for a pair of sandals.They trample the heads of the poor on the dust of the ground and obstruct the path of the needy. A man and his father have sexual relations with the same girl, profaning my holy name.

For from the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, slander.

Brood of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart.A good person produces good things from his storeroom of good, and an evil person produces evil things from his storeroom of evil.I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to account for every careless word they speak.

You have no part or share in this matter, because your heart is not right before God.Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, your heart’s intent may be forgiven.

So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things. Consider how a small fire sets ablaze a large forest.And the tongue is a fire. The tongue, a world of unrighteousness, is placed among our members. It stains the whole body, sets the course of life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
