The fearful heart will know and understand, and the stammering tongue will be fluent and clear.

People who are afraid will know and understand. Tongues that stutter will speak clearly.

The heart of the hasty will understand and know, and the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak distinctly.

Even the hotheads will be full of sense and understanding. Those who stammer will speak out plainly.

The reckless mind will gain knowledge, and the stammering tongue will speak clearly and fluently.

The mind of the rash will discern the truth, And the tongue of the stammerers will hurry to speak clearly.

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus.

At that time, Jesus answered,“ I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.

The word of God increased and the number of the disciples greatly multiplied in Jerusalem. A great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

Yahweh said to him,“ Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn’t it I, Yahweh?

They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.When this sound was heard, the multitude came together and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another,“ Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans?How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!”They were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying to one another,“ What does this mean?”

Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer,for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict.

Your mouth is like the best wine, that goes down smoothly for my beloved, gliding through the lips of those who are asleep.

“ I myself most certainly thought that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.I also did this in Jerusalem. I both shut up many of the saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests, and when they were put to death I gave my vote against them.Punishing them often in all the synagogues, I tried to make them blaspheme. Being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

Jesus answered him,“ Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

but they only heard:“ He who once persecuted us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy.”

They read in the book, in the law of God, distinctly; and they gave the sense, so that they understood the reading.Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people, said to all the people,“ Today is holy to Yahweh your God. Don’t mourn, nor weep.” For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law.Then he said to them,“ Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared, for today is holy to our Lord. Don’t be grieved, for the joy of Yahweh is your strength.”So the Levites calmed all the people, saying,“ Hold your peace, for the day is holy. Don’t be grieved.”All the people went their way to eat, to drink, to send portions, and to celebrate, because they had understood the words that were declared to them.
