歲序既周、葡萄不實、五穀不登、安居之女、因以殷憂、

時越年餘、爾無慮者必戰慄、蓋無葡萄可摘、無禾稼禾稼或作果可收、

In little more than a year you who feel secure will tremble; the grape harvest will fail, and the harvest of fruit will not come.

You feel secure now. But in a little over a year you will tremble with fear. The grape harvest will fail. There won’t be any fruit.

In a short time— just a little more than a year— you careless ones will suddenly begin to care. For your fruit crops will fail, and the harvest will never take place.

Within a year and a few days You will be troubled, you complacent daughters; For the vintage is ended, And the fruit gathering will not come.

It has laid waste my vine and splintered my fig tree; it has stripped off their bark and thrown it down; their branches are made white.

The wine mourns, the vine languishes, all the merry-hearted sigh.The mirth of the tambourines is stilled, the noise of the jubilant has ceased, the mirth of the lyre is stilled.No more do they drink wine with singing; strong drink is bitter to those who drink it.The wasted city is broken down; every house is shut up so that none can enter.There is an outcry in the streets for lack of wine; all joy has grown dark; the gladness of the earth is banished.Desolation is left in the city; the gates are battered into ruins.

For the children of Israel shall dwell many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or pillar, without ephod or household gods.

And I will lay waste her vines and her fig trees, of which she said,‘ These are my wages, which my lovers have given me.’ I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall devour them.

Their goods shall be plundered, and their houses laid waste. Though they build houses, they shall not inhabit them; though they plant vineyards, they shall not drink wine from them.”

The vine dries up; the fig tree languishes. Pomegranate, palm, and apple, all the trees of the field are dried up, and gladness dries up from the children of man.

And joy and gladness are taken away from the fruitful field, and in the vineyards no songs are sung, no cheers are raised; no treader treads out wine in the presses; I have put an end to the shouting.

therefore the Lord will strike with a scab the heads of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will lay bare their secret parts.In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets, the headbands, and the crescents;the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarves;the headdresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets;the signet rings and nose rings;the festal robes, the mantles, the cloaks, and the handbags;the mirrors, the linen garments, the turbans, and the veils.Instead of perfume there will be rottenness; and instead of a belt, a rope; and instead of well-set hair, baldness; and instead of a rich robe, a skirt of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.Your men shall fall by the sword and your mighty men in battle.And her gates shall lament and mourn; empty, she shall sit on the ground.

And now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will remove its hedge, and it shall be devoured; I will break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.I will make it a waste; it shall not be pruned or hoed, and briers and thorns shall grow up; I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

Moreover, I will banish from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the grinding of the millstones and the light of the lamp.This whole land shall become a ruin and a waste, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls,
