But the Egyptians are mere mortals and not God; their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, those who help will stumble, those who are helped will fall; all will perish together.

The men of Egypt are only human beings. They aren’t God. Their horses are only flesh and blood. They aren’t spirits. The Lord will reach out his powerful hand to punish everyone. The Egyptians provide help. But they will be tripped up. The people of Judah receive the help. But they will fall down. All of them will be destroyed.

The Egyptians are man, and not God, and their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, the helper will stumble, and he who is helped will fall, and they will all perish together.

For these Egyptians are mere humans, not God! Their horses are puny flesh, not mighty spirits! When the Lord raises his fist against them, those who help will stumble, and those being helped will fall. They will all fall down and die together.

你弃绝了我，转身退后；因此我伸手攻击你，毁灭你，我已怜悯到厌烦了。这是耶和华说的。

若非他们的磐石卖了他们，若非耶和华交出他们，一人岂能追赶千人，二人焉能使万人逃跑呢？甚至我们的仇敌都承认，他们的磐石不如我们的磐石。

民众一直喊着：“这是神明的声音，不是人的声音。”希律不归荣耀给神，所以主的使者立刻击打他，他被虫咬，就断了气。

他们必因那无益于他们的民蒙羞；那民并非帮助，也非有益，只带来羞耻和凌辱。”

你们不要倚靠君王，不要倚靠世人，他一点也不能帮助。他的气一断，就归回尘土，他所打算的，当日就消灭了。以雅各的神为帮助、仰望耶和华—他神的，这人有福了！

若不然，怎能使我主臣仆中最小的一个军官转脸而逃呢？你难道要倚靠埃及的战车和骑兵吗？

埃及的帮助是徒然的，因此，我称它为“毫不中用的拉哈伯”。

靠马得救是枉然的，马也不能因力大救人。

看哪，你所倚靠的埃及是那断裂的苇杖，人若倚靠这杖，它就刺进他的手，穿透它。埃及王法老向所有倚靠他的人都是这样。

那抵挡者高抬自己超过一切称为神明的，和一切受人敬拜的，甚至坐在神的殿里，自称为神。我还在你们那里的时候曾把这些事告诉你们，你们不记得吗？现在你们也知道那拦阻他的是什么，为要使他到了时机才出现。因为那不法的隐秘已经运作，只是现在有一个阻挡的，要等到那阻挡的被除去才会发作，那时这不法的人必出现，主耶稣要用口中的气灭绝他，以自己来临的光辉摧毁他。

“耶和华—以色列的神如此说：你们要对派你们来求问我的犹大王如此说：‘看哪，那出来帮助你们的法老军队必回埃及本国去。迦勒底人必再来攻打这城，并要攻下，用火焚烧。耶和华如此说：你们不要自欺说“迦勒底人必定离开我们”，因为他们必不离开。你们即使击败与你们争战的迦勒底全军，他们当中剩下受伤的人也必各自从帐棚里起来，用火焚烧这城。’”

耶和华啊，求你使他们恐惧，愿外邦人知道自己不过是人。（细拉）
