But the Egyptians are mere mortals and not God; their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, those who help will stumble, those who are helped will fall; all will perish together.

The men of Egypt are only human beings. They aren’t God. Their horses are only flesh and blood. They aren’t spirits. The Lord will reach out his powerful hand to punish everyone. The Egyptians provide help. But they will be tripped up. The people of Judah receive the help. But they will fall down. All of them will be destroyed.

For these Egyptians are mere humans, not God! Their horses are puny flesh, not mighty spirits! When the Lord raises his fist against them, those who help will stumble, and those being helped will fall. They will all fall down and die together.

“ As I live,” declares the Lord God,“ with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with wrath poured out, I assuredly shall be king over you.I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands where you are scattered, with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with wrath poured out;

You who have forsaken Me,” declares the Lord,“ You keep going backward. So I will stretch out My hand against you and destroy you; I am tired of relenting!

How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, Unless their Rock had sold them, And the Lord had given them up?Indeed, their rock is not like our Rock; Even our enemies themselves judge this.

The people repeatedly cried out,“ The voice of a god and not of a man!”And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.

Everyone will be ashamed because of a people who do not benefit them, Who are not a help or benefit, but a source of shame and also disgrace.”

Do not trust in noblemen, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; On that very day his plans perish.Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, Whose hope is in the Lord his God,

How then can you drive back even one official of the least of my master’s servants and rely on Egypt for chariots and horsemen?

Even Egypt, whose help is vain and empty. Therefore, I have called her“ Rahab who has been exterminated.”

A horse is a false hope for victory; Nor does it rescue anyone by its great strength.

Behold, you have relied on the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who rely on him.

who opposes and exalts himself above every so called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?And you know what restrains him now, so that he will be revealed in his time.For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is removed.Then that lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will eliminate with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:‘ This is what you are to say to the king of Judah, who sent you to Me to inquire of Me:“ Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, is going to return to its own land of Egypt.Then the Chaldeans will return and fight against this city, and they will capture it and burn it with fire.” ’This is what the Lord says:‘ Do not deceive yourselves, saying,“ The Chaldeans will certainly go away from us,” for they will not go.For even if you had defeated the entire army of Chaldeans who were fighting against you, and there were only wounded men left among them, each man in his tent, they would rise up and burn this city with fire.’ ”

Put them in fear, Lord; Let the nations know that they are merely human. Selah
