蓋陀斐特設自古昔、為王而備、深之廣之、積多薪、蓄以火、耶和華之氣、若硫磺之流而燃之、

自古以來、欲罰亞述國王在彼陀法、為備坎阱、其深無量、其廣無垠、積薪無數、望之若臺、焚之以火、耶和華之氣若硫磺、使烈燄四熾焉。

蓋陀斐特自昔已設、亦為王而備、既深且廣、燒場有火、薪柴甚多、主之氣如川流之硫磺燃焉、

It has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.They all will answer and ask you,“ Have you also become as weak as we are? Have you become like us?”Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, with the sound of your stringed instruments. Maggots are spread out under you, and worms cover you.How you have fallen from heaven, shining one, son of the dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low!You said in your heart,“ I will ascend into heaven! I will exalt my throne above the stars of God! I will sit on the mountain of assembly, in the far north!I will ascend above the heights of the clouds! I will make myself like the Most High!”Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the depths of the pit.Those who see you will stare at you. They will ponder you, saying,“ Is this the man who made the earth to tremble, who shook kingdoms,who made the world like a wilderness, and overthrew its cities, who didn’t release his prisoners to their home?”All the kings of the nations, sleep in glory, everyone in his own house.But you are cast away from your tomb like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain, who are thrust through with the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit; like a dead body trodden under foot.You will not join them in burial, because you have destroyed your land. You have killed your people. The offspring of evildoers will not be named forever.

“ Asshur is there with all her company. Her graves are all around her. All of them slain, fallen by the sword;whose graves are set in the uttermost parts of the pit, and her company is around her grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who caused terror in the land of the living.

and shall tell them,‘ Yahweh of Armies says:“ Even so I will break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter’s vessel, that can’t be made whole again. They will bury in Topheth, until there is no place to bury.This is what I will do to this place,” says Yahweh,“ and to its inhabitants, even making this city as Topheth.The houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, which are defiled, will be as the place of Topheth, even all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the army of the sky and have poured out drink offerings to other gods.”’”Then Jeremiah came from Topheth, where Yahweh had sent him to prophesy, and he stood in the court of Yahweh’s house, and said to all the people:

As he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.

Many, Yahweh, my God, are the wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts which are toward us. They can’t be declared back to you. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be counted.Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire. You have opened my ears. You have not required burnt offering and sin offering.
