自古以來、欲罰亞述國王在彼陀法、為備坎阱、其深無量、其廣無垠、積薪無數、望之若臺、焚之以火、耶和華之氣若硫磺、使烈燄四熾焉。

那时，耶和华就使硫磺与火从天而降，从耶和华那里降在所多玛和格摩拉，

“地下的阴间骚动起来迎接你的到来，并为你唤醒阴魂，就是所有生前在地上作过领袖的阴魂；又使所有生前作过列国君王的都从自己宝座上起来。他们都必回应你，说：‘你竟然像我们一样变得软弱无能，与我们相似了！’你的威势和你琴瑟的乐声也被丢下阴间，你下面铺的是蛆，上面盖的是虫。“明亮的晨星，黎明之子啊，你怎么会从天坠落呢？你这击败列国的，怎么会被砍倒在地呢？你心里曾说：‘我要升到天上，我要高举我的宝座在神的众星之上，我要坐在北方极处的聚会山上，我要升到云端之上，我要使自己与至高者相比。’然而你必被丢下阴间，下到阴坑的极处！“那些看见你的都必注视你，他们要审视你，说：‘那使大地颤抖，使列国震动的，难道就是这人吗？那使世界如同荒野，倾覆其城镇，又不释放囚犯回家的，难道就是这人吗？’所有生前作过列国君王的，都在各自的墓穴里长眠于尊荣中，而你却被抛出坟墓，如同一根被憎恶的枝子；你被那些遭刀剑刺透杀死、落入石坑的人所覆盖，如同一具被践踏的尸体。你必不能与其他君王同葬，因为你毁坏了你的国，杀戮了你的民。愿作恶者的后裔永不被提起！
