For through Yahweh’s voice the Assyrian will be dismayed. He will strike him with his rod.

昔亞述人擊民、耶和華必以雷殛之、

亞述必因主之雷聲喪膽、主必以杖加之譴責、

The voice of the Lord will shatter Assyria; with his rod he will strike them down.

The voice of the Lord will tear the Assyrians apart. He will strike them down with his scepter.

The Assyrians will be terror-stricken at the voice of the Lord, when he strikes with his rod.

At the Lord’s command, the Assyrians will be shattered. He will strike them down with his royal scepter.

Assyria will be shattered by the voice of the LORD. He will strike with a rod.

For at the voice of the Lord Assyria will be terrified, When He strikes with the rod.

For through the voice of the Lord Assyria will be beaten down, As He strikes with the rod.

For through the voice of Jehovah shall the Assyrian be dismayed; with his rod will he smite him.

Assyria will be shattered by the voice of the Lord. He will strike with a rod.

Indeed, the LORD’s shout will shatter Assyria; he will beat them with a club.

but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.

Alas Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation!

For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as in the day of Midian.

But as for those who turn away to their crooked ways, Yahweh will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be on Israel.

Should an ax brag against him who chops with it? Should a saw exalt itself above him who saws with it? As if a rod should lift those who lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up someone who is not wood.

He will be our peace when Assyria invades our land, and when he marches through our fortresses, then we will raise against him seven shepherds, and eight leaders of men.They will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in its gates. He will deliver us from the Assyrian, when he invades our land, and when he marches within our border.

Arise, Yahweh, confront him. Cast him down. Deliver my soul from the wicked by your sword;from men by your hand, Yahweh, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life. You fill the belly of your cherished ones. Your sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children.

Therefore the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, says“ My people who dwell in Zion, don’t be afraid of the Assyrian, though he strike you with the rod, and lift up his staff against you, as Egypt did.

For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go out, and survivors will escape from Mount Zion. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this.’“ Therefore Yahweh says concerning the king of Assyria,‘ He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither will he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.He will return the way that he came, and he won’t come to this city,’ says Yahweh.‘ For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.’”Then Yahweh’s angel went out and struck one hundred and eighty- five thousand men in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, went away, returned to Nineveh, and stayed there.As he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.

Therefore it will happen that when the Lord has performed his whole work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the willful proud heart of the king of Assyria, and the insolence of his arrogant looks.

Yahweh will cause his glorious voice to be heard, and will show the descent of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, storm, and hailstones.
