The voice of the Lord will shatter Assyria; with his rod he will strike them down.

昔亞述人擊民、耶和華必以雷殛之、

亞述必因主之雷聲喪膽、主必以杖加之譴責、

The voice of the Lord will tear the Assyrians apart. He will strike them down with his scepter.

The Assyrians will be terror-stricken at the voice of the Lord, when he strikes with his rod.

At the Lord’s command, the Assyrians will be shattered. He will strike them down with his royal scepter.

Assyria will be shattered by the voice of the LORD. He will strike with a rod.

For at the voice of the Lord Assyria will be terrified, When He strikes with the rod.

For through the voice of the Lord Assyria will be beaten down, As He strikes with the rod.

For through the voice of Jehovah shall the Assyrian be dismayed; with his rod will he smite him.

Assyria will be shattered by the voice of the Lord. He will strike with a rod.

For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down,[ which] smote with a rod.

Indeed, the LORD’s shout will shatter Assyria; he will beat them with a club.

For through Yahweh’s voice the Assyrian will be dismayed. He will strike him with his rod.

but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.

“ Woe to the Assyrian, the rod of my anger, in whose hand is the club of my wrath!

For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor.

But those who turn to crooked ways the Lord will banish with the evildoers. Peace be on Israel.

Does the ax raise itself above the person who swings it, or the saw boast against the one who uses it? As if a rod were to wield the person who lifts it up, or a club brandish the one who is not wood!

And he will be our peace when the Assyrians invade our land and march through our fortresses. We will raise against them seven shepherds, even eight commanders,who will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, the land of Nimrod with drawn sword. He will deliver us from the Assyrians when they invade our land and march across our borders.

Rise up, Lord, confront them, bring them down; with your sword rescue me from the wicked.By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies; may their children gorge themselves on it, and may there be leftovers for their little ones.

Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord Almighty, says:“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians, who beat you with a rod and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did.

For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.“ Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the king of Assyria:“ He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here. He will not come before it with shield or build a siege ramp against it.By the way that he came he will return; he will not enter this city,” declares the Lord.“ I will defend this city and save it, for my sake and for the sake of David my servant!”Then the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty- five thousand in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning— there were all the dead bodies!So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there.One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisrok, his sons Adrammelek and Sharezer killed him with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son succeeded him as king.

When the Lord has finished all his work against Mount Zion and Jerusalem, he will say,“ I will punish the king of Assyria for the willful pride of his heart and the haughty look in his eyes.

The Lord will cause people to hear his majestic voice and will make them see his arm coming down with raging anger and consuming fire, with cloudburst, thunderstorm and hail.
