亞述必因主之雷聲喪膽、主必以杖加之譴責、

The voice of the Lord will shatter Assyria; with his rod he will strike them down.

The voice of the Lord will tear the Assyrians apart. He will strike them down with his scepter.

The Assyrians will be terror-stricken at the voice of the Lord, when he strikes with his rod.

At the Lord’s command, the Assyrians will be shattered. He will strike them down with his royal scepter.

Assyria will be shattered by the voice of the LORD. He will strike with a rod.

For through the voice of the Lord Assyria will be beaten down, As He strikes with the rod.

For through the voice of Jehovah shall the Assyrian be dismayed; with his rod will he smite him.

But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the humble of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.

Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger And the staff in whose hands is My indignation,

For You will break the yoke of their burden and the staff on their shoulders, The rod of their oppressor, as at the battle of Midian.

But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, The Lord will lead them away with those who practice injustice. Peace be upon Israel.

Is the axe to boast itself over the one who chops with it? Is the saw to exalt itself over the one who wields it? That would be like a club wielding those who lift it, Or like a rod lifting the one who is not wood.

This One will be our peace. When the Assyrian invades our land, When he tramples on our citadels, Then we will raise against him Seven shepherds and eight leaders of people.They will shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword, The land of Nimrod at its entrances; And He will rescue us from the Assyrian When he invades our land, And when he tramples our territory.

Arise, Lord, confront him, make him bow down; Save my soul from the wicked with Your sword,From people by Your hand, Lord, From people of the world, whose portion is in this life, And whose belly You fill with Your treasure; They are satisfied with children, And leave their abundance to their babies.

Therefore this is what the Lord God of armies says:“ My people, you who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian who strikes you with the rod, and lifts up his staff against you the way Egypt did.

For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go, and out of Mount Zion survivors. The zeal of the Lord of armies will perform this.” ’“ Therefore, this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria:‘ He will not come to this city nor shoot an arrow there; and he will not come before it with a shield, nor heap up an assault ramp against it.By the way that he came, by the same he will return, and he will not come to this city,’ declares the Lord.‘ For I will protect this city to save it for My own sake, and for My servant David’s sake.’ ”Then the angel of the Lord went out and struck 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians; and when the rest got up early in the morning, behold, all of the 185,000 were dead.So Sennacherib the king of Assyria departed and returned home and lived in Nineveh.Then it came about, as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with the sword; and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And his son Esarhaddon became king in his place.

So it will be that when the Lord has completed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, He will say,“ I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the arrogant pride of his eyes.”

And the Lord will cause His voice of authority to be heard, And the descending of His arm to be seen in fierce anger, And in the flame of a consuming fire In cloudburst, downpour, and hailstones.
