The Assyrians will be terror-stricken at the voice of the Lord, when he strikes with his rod.

The voice of the Lord will shatter Assyria; with his rod he will strike them down.

The voice of the Lord will tear the Assyrians apart. He will strike them down with his scepter.

At the Lord’s command, the Assyrians will be shattered. He will strike them down with his royal scepter.

Assyria will be shattered by the voice of the LORD. He will strike with a rod.

For at the voice of the Lord Assyria will be terrified, When He strikes with the rod.

For through the voice of the Lord Assyria will be beaten down, As He strikes with the rod.

For through the voice of Jehovah shall the Assyrian be dismayed; with his rod will he smite him.

Assyria will be shattered by the voice of the Lord. He will strike with a rod.

For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down,[ which] smote with a rod.

Indeed, the LORD’s shout will shatter Assyria; he will beat them with a club.

For through Yahweh’s voice the Assyrian will be dismayed. He will strike him with his rod.

but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.

Woe to Assyria, the rod of my anger; the staff in their hands is my fury!

For the yoke of his burden, and the staff for his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as on the day of Midian.

But those who turn aside to their crooked ways the Lord will lead away with evildoers! Peace be upon Israel!

Shall the axe boast over him who hews with it, or the saw magnify itself against him who wields it? As if a rod should wield him who lifts it, or as if a staff should lift him who is not wood!

And he shall be their peace. When the Assyrian comes into our land and treads in our palaces, then we will raise against him seven shepherds and eight princes of men;they shall shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod at its entrances; and he shall deliver us from the Assyrian when he comes into our land and treads within our border.

The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.“ Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come into this city or shoot an arrow there or come before it with a shield or cast up a siege mound against it.By the way that he came, by the same he shall return, and he shall not come into this city, declares the Lord.For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David.”And the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. And when people arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.Then Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and returned home and lived at Nineveh.And as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer, his sons, struck him down with the sword. And after they escaped into the land of Ararat, Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.

When the Lord has finished all his work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, he will punish the speech of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the boastful look in his eyes.

And the Lord will cause his majestic voice to be heard and the descending blow of his arm to be seen, in furious anger and a flame of devouring fire, with a cloudburst and storm and hailstones.
