And the Lord will make his majestic voice heard. He will display the strength of his mighty arm. It will descend with devouring flames, with cloudbursts, thunderstorms, and huge hailstones.

The Lord will cause people to hear his majestic voice and will make them see his arm coming down with raging anger and consuming fire, with cloudburst, thunderstorm and hail.

The Lord will cause people to hear his powerful voice. He will make them see his arm coming down to punish them. It will come down with burning anger and destroying fire. It will come down with rain, thunderstorms and hail.

And the Lord will cause his majestic voice to be heard and the descending blow of his arm to be seen, in furious anger and a flame of devouring fire, with a cloudburst and storm and hailstones.

And the LORD will make the splendor of his voice heard and reveal his arm striking in angry wrath and a flame of consuming fire, in driving rain, a torrent, and hailstones.

And the Lord will cause His voice of authority to be heard, And the descending of His arm to be seen in fierce anger, And in the flame of a consuming fire In cloudburst, downpour, and hailstones.

As the Amorites retreated down the road from Beth horon, the Lord destroyed them with a terrible hailstorm from heaven that continued until they reached Azekah. The hail killed more of the enemy than the Israelites killed with the sword.

I, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, will act for you with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with whirlwind and storm and consuming fire.

The Lord is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and rage. He takes revenge on all who oppose him and continues to rage against his enemies!The Lord is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.At his command the oceans dry up, and the rivers disappear. The lush pastures of Bashan and Carmel fade, and the green forests of Lebanon wither.In his presence the mountains quake, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles, and its people are destroyed.Who can stand before his fierce anger? Who can survive his burning fury? His rage blazes forth like fire, and the mountains crumble to dust in his presence.

Then the thunder crashed and rolled, and lightning flashed. And a great earthquake struck— the worst since people were placed on the earth.The great city of Babylon split into three sections, and the cities of many nations fell into heaps of rubble. So God remembered all of Babylon’s sins, and he made her drink the cup that was filled with the wine of his fierce wrath.And every island disappeared, and all the mountains were leveled.There was a terrible hailstorm, and hailstones weighing as much as seventy five pounds fell from the sky onto the people below. They cursed God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm.

In my jealousy and blazing anger, I promise a mighty shaking in the land of Israel on that day.All living things— the fish in the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the people on earth— will quake in terror at my presence. Mountains will be thrown down; cliffs will crumble; walls will fall to the earth.I will summon the sword against you on all the hills of Israel, says the Sovereign Lord. Your men will turn their swords against each other.I will punish you and your armies with disease and bloodshed; I will send torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and burning sulfur!

Then, in heaven, the Temple of God was opened and the Ark of his covenant could be seen inside the Temple. Lightning flashed, thunder crashed and roared, and there was an earthquake and a terrible hailstorm.

For the Lord will send a mighty army against it. Like a mighty hailstorm and a torrential rain, they will burst upon it like a surging flood and smash it to the ground.

in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus.

Even if the forest should be destroyed and the city torn down,

Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world.

The mountains melt beneath his feet and flow into the valleys like wax in a fire, like water pouring down a hill.

Our boldest enemies have been plundered. They lie before us in the sleep of death. No warrior could lift a hand against us.At the blast of your breath, O God of Jacob, their horses and chariots lay still.No wonder you are greatly feared! Who can stand before you when your anger explodes?From heaven you sentenced your enemies; the earth trembled and stood silent before you.

Sing a new song to the Lord, for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; his holy arm has shown his saving power!

The Lord has sworn to Jerusalem by his own strength:“ I will never again hand you over to your enemies. Never again will foreign warriors come and take away your grain and new wine.

So the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the whole earth was harvested.After that, another angel came from the Temple in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle.Then another angel, who had power to destroy with fire, came from the altar. He shouted to the angel with the sharp sickle,“ Swing your sickle now to gather the clusters of grapes from the vines of the earth, for they are ripe for judgment.”So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and loaded the grapes into the great winepress of God’s wrath.The grapes were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress in a stream about 180 miles long and as high as a horse’s bridle.

terror and dread fall upon them. The power of your arm makes them lifeless as stone until your people pass by, O Lord, until the people you purchased pass by.

The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea. The God of glory thunders. The Lord thunders over the mighty sea.The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic.The voice of the Lord splits the mighty cedars; the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon.He makes Lebanon’s mountains skip like a calf; he makes Mount Hermon leap like a young wild ox.The voice of the Lord strikes with bolts of lightning.The voice of the Lord makes the barren wilderness quake; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.The voice of the Lord twists mighty oaks and strips the forests bare. In his Temple everyone shouts,“ Glory!”

The Lord, the Mighty One, is God, and he has spoken; he has summoned all humanity from where the sun rises to where it sets.From Mount Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines in glorious radiance.Our God approaches, and he is not silent. Fire devours everything in his way, and a great storm rages around him.

Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury.

Listen carefully to the thunder of God’s voice as it rolls from his mouth.It rolls across the heavens, and his lightning flashes in every direction.Then comes the roaring of the thunder— the tremendous voice of his majesty. He does not restrain it when he speaks.God’s voice is glorious in the thunder. We can’t even imagine the greatness of his power.

The nations are in chaos, and their kingdoms crumble! God’s voice thunders, and the earth melts!

His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice thundered like mighty ocean waves.

Wake up, wake up, O Lord! Clothe yourself with strength! Flex your mighty right arm! Rouse yourself as in the days of old when you slew Egypt, the dragon of the Nile.

I watched as the Lamb broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became as dark as black cloth, and the moon became as red as blood.Then the stars of the sky fell to the earth like green figs falling from a tree shaken by a strong wind.The sky was rolled up like a scroll, and all of the mountains and islands were moved from their places.Then everyone— the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the wealthy, the powerful, and every slave and free person— all hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains.And they cried to the mountains and the rocks,“ Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to survive?”

Are you as strong as God? Can you thunder with a voice like his?

Fire spreads ahead of him and burns up all his foes.His lightning flashes out across the world. The earth sees and trembles.The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth.

His mighty arm has done tremendous things! He has scattered the proud and haughty ones.

The moving wings of the cherubim sounded like the voice of God Almighty and could be heard even in the outer courtyard.

Just as Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines arrived to attack Israel. But the Lord spoke with a mighty voice of thunder from heaven that day, and the Philistines were thrown into such confusion that the Israelites defeated them.
