那時，因他發怒，地就搖撼戰抖；山的根基也震動搖撼。從他鼻孔冒煙上騰；從他口中發火焚燒，連炭也着了。他又使天下垂，親自降臨，有黑雲在他腳下。

耶和華說：你們要等候我，直到我興起擄掠的日子；因為我已定意招聚列國，聚集列邦，將我的惱怒－就是我的烈怒都傾在她們身上。我的忿怒如火，必燒滅全地。

因為我們的神乃是烈火。

那時這不法的人必顯露出來。主耶穌要用口中的氣滅絕他，用降臨的榮光廢掉他。

他說：耶和華從西奈而來，從西珥向他們顯現，從巴蘭山發出光輝，從萬萬聖者中來臨，從他右手為百姓傳出烈火的律法。

因為在我怒中有火燒起，直燒到極深的陰間，把地和地的出產盡都焚燒，山的根基也燒着了。

以東的河水要變為石油，塵埃要變為硫磺；地土成為燒着的石油，

你們看見，就心中快樂；你們的骨頭必得滋潤像嫩草一樣；而且耶和華的手向他僕人所行的必被人知道；他也要向仇敵發惱恨。

戰士在亂殺之間所穿戴的盔甲，並那滾在血中的衣服，都必作為可燒的，當作火柴。

列邦必像已燒的石灰，像已割的荊棘在火中焚燒。

耶和華啊，這到幾時呢？你要動怒到永遠嗎？你的憤恨要如火焚燒嗎？

你們一切過路的人哪，這事你們不介意嗎？你們要觀看：有像這臨到我的痛苦沒有－就是耶和華在他發烈怒的日子使我所受的苦？他從高天使火進入我的骨頭，剋制了我；他鋪下網羅，絆我的腳，使我轉回；他使我終日淒涼發昏。

我觀看，見有寶座設立，上頭坐着亙古常在者。他的衣服潔白如雪，頭髮如純淨的羊毛。寶座乃火焰，其輪乃烈火。

大山因他震動；小山也都消化。大地在他面前突起；世界和住在其間的也都如此。他發忿恨，誰能立得住呢？他發烈怒，誰能當得起呢？他的忿怒如火傾倒；磐石因他崩裂。

因此，主－萬軍之耶和華必使亞述王的肥壯人變為瘦弱，在他的榮華之下必有火着起，如同焚燒一樣。以色列的光必如火；他的聖者必如火焰。在一日之間，將亞述王的荊棘和蒺藜焚燒淨盡；

如此，人從日落之處必敬畏耶和華的名，從日出之地也必敬畏他的榮耀；因為仇敵好像急流的河水沖來，是耶和華之氣所驅逐的。

亞述是我怒氣的棍，手中拿我惱恨的杖。
