那时大地摇撼、震动，群山的根基也颤抖、摇撼，因为他发怒了。浓烟从他的鼻孔上腾，吞噬的烈火从他口中而出，火炭也从他那里燃起。他又使诸天下垂，亲自降临；他的脚下是幽深的黑暗。

要知道，我们的神实在是吞噬的烈火。

然后这不法之人要被显露出来。主耶稣要以自己口中的气杀掉他，藉着自己来临的显现除去他。

以东的溪流将变成柏油，它的尘土将变成硫磺，它的土地将成为燃烧着的柏油——

那时，你们看见了就心里欢喜，你们的骨头必像嫩草一样兴盛；耶和华的手必向他的仆人们显明，他必对他的仇敌恼怒。

每一个在战乱中所穿的军靴和滚在血中的战袍，都必烧毁，成为烧火的燃料。

众民必被烧成灰烬，好像砍下的荆棘在火中烧掉。

耶和华啊，这要到什么时候呢？你要永久发怒吗？你的嫉妒要像火那样燃烧吗？

“我继续观看，宝座已经安放好，亘古永存者入座了；他的衣服洁白如雪，他的头发纯净如羊毛；他的宝座是烈火的火焰，宝座的轮子是燃烧的烈火。

因此，主万军之耶和华必使衰败临到亚述王肥壮的勇士；在亚述王的荣耀之下，必有火燃起，如同烈火燃烧。以色列的光必成为火，他的圣者必成为烈焰，一日之内就把亚述王的荆棘和蒺藜焚烧吞没；

这样，人在日落之处必敬畏耶和华的名，在日出之地必敬畏他的荣耀；因为他必来临，如湍急的洪流，被耶和华的风所驱使。

祸哉！亚述，我怒气的棍！他们手中的杖就是我的愤怒。
