In the day of great slaughter, when the towers fall, streams of water will flow on every high mountain and every lofty hill.

At that time the towers of your enemies will fall down. Their soldiers will die. Streams of water will flow on every high mountain and hill.

And on every lofty mountain and every high hill there will be brooks running with water, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

In that day, when your enemies are slaughtered and the towers fall, there will be streams of water flowing down every mountain and hill.

Streams flowing with water will be on every high mountain and every raised hill on the day of great slaughter when the towers fall.

And on every lofty mountain and every high hill there will be streams running with water on the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

“ Look, I am about to do something new. Now it begins to happen! Do you not recognize it? They got what they deserved!”Then I heard the altar reply,“ Yes, Lord God, the All- Powerful, your judgments are true and just!”Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was permitted to scorch people with fire.Thus people were scorched by the terrible heat, yet they blasphemed the name of God, who has ruling authority over these plagues, and they would not repent and give him glory.Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast so that darkness covered his kingdom, and people began to bite their tongues because of their pain.They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their sufferings and because of their sores, but nevertheless they still refused to repent of their deeds.Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates and dried up its water to prepare the way for the kings from the east.Then I saw three unclean spirits that looked like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.For they are the spirits of the demons performing signs who go out to the kings of the earth to bring them together for the battle that will take place on the great day of God, the All- Powerful.( Look! I will come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays alert and does not lose his clothes so that he will not have to walk around naked and his shameful condition be seen.)Now the spirits gathered the kings and their armies to the place that is called Armageddon in Hebrew.Finally the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying:“ It is done!”Then there were flashes of lightning, roaring, and crashes of thunder, and there was a tremendous earthquake– an earthquake unequaled since humanity has been on the earth, so tremendous was that earthquake.The great city was split into three parts and the cities of the nations collapsed. So Babylon the great was remembered before God, and was given the cup filled with the wine made of God’s furious wrath.

“ As for you, son of man, this is what the sovereign LORD says: Tell every kind of bird and every wild beast:‘ Assemble and come! Gather from all around to my slaughter which I am going to make for you, a great slaughter on the mountains of Israel! You will eat flesh and drink blood.You will eat the flesh of warriors and drink the blood of the princes of the earth– the rams, lambs, goats, and bulls, all of them fattened animals of Bashan.You will eat fat until you are full, and drink blood until you are drunk, at my slaughter which I have made for you.You will fill up at my table with horses and charioteers, with warriors and all the soldiers,’ declares the sovereign LORD.

For I will pour water on the parched ground and cause streams to flow on the dry land. I will pour my spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your children.They will sprout up like a tree in the grass, like poplars beside channels of water.

I will turn them and the regions around my hill into a blessing. I will make showers come down in their season; they will be showers that bring blessing.

“‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says:“‘ I will take a sprig from the lofty top of the cedar and plant it. I will pluck from the top one of its tender twigs; I myself will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.

For the LORD is angry at all the nations and furious with all their armies. He will annihilate them and slaughter them.Their slain will be left unburied, their corpses will stink; the hills will soak up their blood.All the stars in the sky will fade away, the sky will roll up like a scroll; all its stars will wither, like a leaf withers and falls from a vine or a fig withers and falls from a tree.He says,“ Indeed, my sword has slaughtered heavenly powers. Look, it now descends on Edom, on the people I will annihilate in judgment.”The LORD’s sword is dripping with blood, it is covered with fat; it drips with the blood of young rams and goats and is covered with the fat of rams’ kidneys. For the LORD is holding a sacrifice in Bozrah, a bloody slaughter in the land of Edom.Wild oxen will be slaughtered along with them, as well as strong bulls. Their land is drenched with blood, their soil is covered with fat.For the LORD has planned a day of revenge, a time when he will repay Edom for her hostility toward Zion.Edom’s streams will be turned into pitch and her soil into brimstone; her land will become burning pitch.Night and day it will burn; its smoke will ascend continually. Generation after generation it will be a wasteland and no one will ever pass through it again.

I stomped on them in my anger; I trampled them down in my rage. Their juice splashed on my garments, and stained all my clothes.For I looked forward to the day of vengeance, and then payback time arrived.I looked, but there was no one to help; I was shocked because there was no one offering support. So my right arm accomplished deliverance; my raging anger drove me on.I trampled nations in my anger, I made them drunk in my rage, I splashed their blood on the ground.”

For the fortress is neglected; the once-crowded city is abandoned. Hill and watchtower are permanently uninhabited. Wild donkeys love to go there, and flocks graze there.

The LORD’s messenger went out and killed 185,000 troops in the Assyrian camp. When they got up early the next morning, there were all the corpses!

I will make streams flow down the slopes and produce springs in the middle of the valleys. I will turn the desert into a pool of water and the arid land into springs.I will make cedars, acacias, myrtles, and olive trees grow in the wilderness; I will make evergreens, firs, and cypresses grow together in the desert.

All your fortifications will be like fig trees with first-ripe fruit: If they are shaken, their figs will fall into the mouth of the eater!

let the one who believes in me drink. Just as the scripture says,‘ From within him will flow rivers of living water.’”

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life– water as clear as crystal– pouring out from the throne of God and of the Lamb,
