如果不能，你怎能擊退我主的臣僕中至小的一個軍官呢？你竟敢依靠埃及的戰車和馬兵！

摩押說：「求你出謀略，作裁決，使你的影子在正午時如同黑夜，隱藏被驅趕的人，不要暴露逃亡的人；

那些仰望庫實、以埃及為榮的，都必驚惶羞愧。到那日，沿海的居民必說：『看哪！我們向來所仰望的，就是我們為了從亞述王手中得解救而逃往求助的，尚且如此，我們又怎能逃脫呢？』」

禍哉！那些下埃及求幫助的人！他們依仗馬匹，依靠戰車眾多、馬兵強大，卻不仰望以色列的聖者，也不尋求耶和華。然而耶和華有智慧，他降下災禍，不收回自己的話；他起來攻擊作惡者的家，攻擊助紂為虐的人。埃及人不過是人，不是神；他們的馬不過是血肉，不是靈。耶和華一伸手，那幫助人的就會絆倒，受幫助的也會仆倒，他們都會一同滅絕。
