Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;‘ he will lead them to springs of living water.’‘ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.And if we know that he hears us— whatever we ask— we know that we have what we asked of him.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken.

I will bring forth descendants from Jacob, and from Judah those who will possess my mountains; my chosen people will inherit them, and there will my servants live.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

This is what the Lord says:“ I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the Faithful City, and the mountain of the Lord Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain.”This is what the Lord Almighty says:“ Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each of them with cane in hand because of their age.The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.”This is what the Lord Almighty says:“ It may seem marvelous to the remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvelous to me?” declares the Lord Almighty.This is what the Lord Almighty says:“ I will save my people from the countries of the east and the west.I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God.”

and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written:“ The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.

“ This is what the Lord says:“‘ Your wound is incurable, your injury beyond healing.

Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord Almighty, says:“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians, who beat you with a rod and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did.

But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy.

For on my holy mountain, the high mountain of Israel, declares the Sovereign Lord, there in the land all the people of Israel will serve me, and there I will accept them. There I will require your offerings and your choice gifts, along with all your holy sacrifices.

I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.

Listen to the fugitives and refugees from Babylon declaring in Zion how the Lord our God has taken vengeance, vengeance for his temple.

‘ Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

“ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Once again I will yield to Israel’s plea and do this for them: I will make their people as numerous as sheep,

“‘ The Lord has vindicated us; come, let us tell in Zion what the Lord our God has done.’

They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever.I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever.My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.Then the nations will know that I the Lord make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.’”

So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again.Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.“ Afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted, I will rebuild you with stones of turquoise, your foundations with lapis lazuli.I will make your battlements of rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones.All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you.

They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the Lord— the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well- watered garden, and they will sorrow no more.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,“ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Sing, Daughter Zion; shout aloud, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem!The Lord has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm.On that day they will say to Jerusalem,“ Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands hang limp.The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. Why do you now cry aloud— have you no king? Has your ruler perished, that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor?

and said to him:“ Run, tell that young man,‘ Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it.And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord,‘ and I will be its glory within.’“ Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord,“ for I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven,” declares the Lord.“ Come, Zion! Escape, you who live in Daughter Babylon!”

I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel.
