And therefore will Jehovah wait, that he may be gracious unto you; and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for Jehovah is a God of justice; blessed are all they that wait for him.

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!

But the Lord wants to have mercy on you. So he will rise up to give you his tender love. The Lord is a God who is always fair. Blessed are all those who wait for him to act!

Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.

So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.

Therefore the LORD is waiting to show you mercy, and is rising up to show you compassion, for the LORD is a just God. All who wait patiently for him are happy.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness; but is longsuffering to you- ward, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.

He that giveth heed unto the word shall find good; And whoso trusteth in Jehovah, happy is he.

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote unto you;

And I will wait for Jehovah, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is Jehovah; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Oh taste and see that Jehovah is good: Blessed is the man that taketh refuge in him.

Jehovah is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness.

Blessed be Jehovah, Because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.Jehovah is my strength and my shield; My heart hath trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; And with my song will I praise him.

What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering vessels of wrath fitted unto destruction:

And he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yet afar off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

but Jehovah of hosts is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.

Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear.For David ascended not into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do?And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him.

Talk no more so exceeding proudly; Let not arrogancy come out of your mouth; For Jehovah is a God of knowledge, And by him actions are weighed.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in Jehovah, and whose trust Jehovah is.

I waited patiently for Jehovah; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, And shall trust in Jehovah.

The stouthearted are made a spoil, They have slept their sleep; And none of the men of might have found their hands.At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.Thou, even thou, art to be feared; And who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?Thou didst cause sentence to be heard from heaven; The earth feared, and was still,When God arose to judgment, To save all the meek of the earth.[ SelahSurely the wrath of man shall praise thee: The residue of wrath shalt thou gird upon thee.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.Jehovah of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.[ Selah

And behold, a Canaanitish woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a demon.But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.But she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.And he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread and cast it to the dogs.But she said, Yea, Lord: for even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it done unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that hour.

Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, For his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all they that take refuge in him.

Behooved it not the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?And beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

O Jehovah of hosts, Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

And the law came in besides, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly:

Him did God exalt with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.

But if we hope for that which we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered;and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.

The Rock, his work is perfect; For all his ways are justice: A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, Just and right is he.

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth over the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in lovingkindness.He will again have compassion upon us; he will tread our iniquities under foot; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the lovingkindness to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus, Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a calf unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art Jehovah my God.Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a darling child? for as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart yearneth for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith Jehovah.

which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

My soul, wait thou in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him.He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my high tower; I shall not be moved.With God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us.[ Selah

Behold, we call them blessed that endured: ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.

which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him cometh my salvation.He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved.

to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved:

Ye have wearied Jehovah with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? In that ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of Jehovah, and he delighteth in them; or where is the God of justice?

How much less when thou sayest thou beholdest him not, The cause is before him, and thou waitest for him!

And we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against them that practise such things.And reckonest thou this, O man, who judgest them that practise such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;who will render to every man according to his works:to them that by patience in well- doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life:but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be wrath and indignation,tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek;but glory and honor and peace to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek:

Wait for Jehovah: Be strong, and let thy heart take courage; Yea, wait thou for Jehovah.

How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I cast thee off, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboiim? my heart is turned within me, my compassions are kindled together.I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee; and I will not come in wrath.

I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me earnestly.Come, and let us return unto Jehovah; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.After two days will he revive us: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live before him.

And Jehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth,

but they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.

And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.And the people of Nineveh believed God; and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.And the tidings reached the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.And he made proclamation and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed, nor drink water;but let them be covered with sackcloth, both man and beast, and let them cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in his hands.Who knoweth whether God will not turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil which he said he would do unto them; and he did it not.

The way of the just is uprightness: thou that art upright dost direct the path of the just.Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Jehovah, have we waited for thee; to thy name, even to thy memorial name, is the desire of our soul.

Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delighteth: I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.He will not cry, nor lift up his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street.A bruised reed will he not break, and a dimly burning wick will he not quench: he will bring forth justice in truth.He will not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set justice in the earth; and the isles shall wait for his law.

O Jehovah, correct me, but in measure; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name; for they have devoured Jacob, yea, they have devoured him and consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation.

Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.

For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that hath mercy.For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, For this very purpose did I raise thee up, that I might show in thee my power, and that my name might be published abroad in all the earth.So then he hath mercy on whom he will, and whom he will he hardeneth.

But as for me, I will look unto Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, Jehovah will be a light unto me.I will bear the indignation of Jehovah, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry out like a travailing woman; I will gasp and pant together.

For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him; I hid my face and was wroth; and he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.

The king’s strength also loveth justice; Thou dost establish equity; Thou executest justice and righteousness in Jacob.

Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted.Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you.And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.

For thus hath Jehovah said unto me, I will be still, and I will behold in my dwelling- place, like clear heat in sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
