有一人以驅逐、則爾之千軍皆遁、有五人以追襲、則爾之全師俱奔、即有孑遺、如山巔孤竹、如嶺上單旌。

一人叱喝，必令千人逃跑；五人叱喝，你们都必逃跑；以致剩下的，好像山顶的旗杆，冈上的大旗。

一个敌人就可以威吓你们一千个人，若五个敌人威吓你们，你们都要逃跑了！以致你们所剩下的，必孤立如同山顶上的旗杆，冈陵上的旗帜。

一个人的威胁，会使千人逃跑；五个人的威胁，会使你们逃跑得所剩无几，如山顶上的旗杆，又如冈陵上的旗帜。

一人叱咤、而千人逃、五人叱咤、而眾人遁、迨爾所遺、如山巔之竿、嶺上之旌、

一人叱喝、則千人逃、五人叱喝、則爾盡遁、致爾曹所遺者、僅如山巔之望杆、岡上之號旗、

A thousand will flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you will all flee away, till you are left like a flagstaff on a mountaintop, like a banner on a hill.”

When one of them dares you to fight, a thousand of you will run away. When five of them dare you, all of you will run away. So few of you will be left that you will be like a flagpole on top of a mountain. You will be like only one banner on a hill.”

A thousand shall flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you shall flee, till you are left like a flagstaff on the top of a mountain, like a signal on a hill.

One of them will chase a thousand of you. Five of them will make all of you flee. You will be left like a lonely flagpole on a hill or a tattered banner on a distant mountaintop.”

耶和華必使爾為敵所敗、爾合一處而去、必分七途而遁、播棄於天下億兆之中。

爾曹猶有孑遺、處於敵國、必使爾心畏葸、風吹葉落、偶聞其聲、則懼而遁、若避鋒刃、即無追者、亦必隕沒。

如其上帝弗鬻之、如耶和華未棄之、則一可襲千、二可驅萬。

爾中之人、五可驅百、百可驅萬、敵必殲於爾刃。

是以爾中之人、一可驅千、蓋爾之上帝耶和華助爾以戰、踐其前言。

惡者雖無追襲、而遁逃恐後、義者之膽、其大若獅。

數枝見折、爾素為野欖、接枝於橄欖、分其根之盛、

凡我諸枝、不結實者去之、結實者治之、使結實尤繁、今爾曹以我所傳之道而治者也、爾當在我、則我在爾、設枝不在葡萄樹、其實不結、爾曹不在我、亦如是、我乃葡萄樹、爾乃枝、凡在我、而我在之者、則結實繁、絕於我、爾無能為也、人不在我、猶枝離樹而槁、拾之委火焚矣、

我同宗哈拿尼與猶大數人、或來就見、我問之曰、猶大人被虜而歸者安否、耶路撒冷之事若何。彼曰、猶大人被虜而歸者、遭難受辱、耶路撒冷城堞仍墮、邑門仍燬、

爾地荒蕪、爾邑焚燬、異邦之人至、傾覆爾四境、吞食爾土產、俾爾目擊。郇僅孤城、所存無幾、猶葡萄園之廬、瓜田之舍、被圍之邑而已。

時必有大難、自世之始、越至於今、皆未之有、後亦無有焉、斯時不稍減其日、則無得救者、蓋為所選之民、此日可稍減耳、

枝幹枯槁、即遭毀折、女子拾焉、焚之以火、蓋彼敵人、懵然無知、故我造化之主、不加矜憫。

尚有遺民、謙遜為懷、倚賴我耶和華、我使之居於爾中、

耶和華曰、斯土眾庶、三分之二、必遭殞亡、三分之一、猶可得生、我將使三分之一、若投於烈焰之中、煉之若銀、試之若金、彼籲於上、而我垂聽、稱彼為我民、彼必曰、耶和華乃我上帝。

其中居民、尚存什一、屢遭喪敗、譬彼橡樹、雖經斬伐、猶留其幹、為善之人亦若是。

曰、希西家云、今日我遘患難、有譴責我、欺蔑我者、若婦當產而無力、亞述王遣僕臘沙基、侮永生之上帝、爾之上帝耶和華、或聞其言、而加以譴責、故請爾為遺民、禱告於上、

浸假攻爾之迦勒底人、為爾所擊、其軍中惟遺被傷之卒、偃於幕下、亦能起、燬斯邑。
