一人叱咤、而千人逃、五人叱咤、而眾人遁、迨爾所遺、如山巔之竿、嶺上之旌、

一个敌人就可以威吓你们一千个人，若五个敌人威吓你们，你们都要逃跑了！以致你们所剩下的，必孤立如同山顶上的旗杆，冈陵上的旗帜。

一个人的威胁，会使千人逃跑；五个人的威胁，会使你们逃跑得所剩无几，如山顶上的旗杆，又如冈陵上的旗帜。

有一人以驅逐、則爾之千軍皆遁、有五人以追襲、則爾之全師俱奔、即有孑遺、如山巔孤竹、如嶺上單旌。

一人叱喝、則千人逃、五人叱喝、則爾盡遁、致爾曹所遺者、僅如山巔之望杆、岡上之號旗、

A thousand will flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you will all flee away, till you are left like a flagstaff on a mountaintop, like a banner on a hill.”

When one of them dares you to fight, a thousand of you will run away. When five of them dare you, all of you will run away. So few of you will be left that you will be like a flagpole on top of a mountain. You will be like only one banner on a hill.”

耶和華必使爾為敵所敗、爾攻之也由一途、爾逃之也由七途、拋棄於天下萬國之中、

爾之孑遺、處於敵國、必使其心頹敗、風吹葉落、聞聲而怖、彼之遁逃、若避鋒刃、即無追者、亦必顚仆、

若非其磐石鬻之、耶和華付之、則敵一焉能驅千、二焉能逐萬、

爾中之人、五可驅百、百可驅萬、以刃擊敵、仆於爾前、

爾中之人、一能驅千、蓋爾上帝耶和華為爾戰、如其所言、

惡者無人追襲而逃、義者猛勇若獅、

若數枝見折、爾素為野欖者得接於其中、共與於橄欖之根與腴、

凡在我之枝、而不實者、則去之、實則潔之、使實尤繁也、今爾曹因我語爾之言而潔矣、爾宜恆在我中、我亦在爾中、若枝不恆在於樹、不能自實、爾不恆在我亦然、我為葡萄樹、爾為枝、恆在我中、我亦在彼中者、則結實孔繁、蓋外乎我、爾無能為也、不恆在我者、猶枝見棄而槁、人拾而投於火焚之、

我同宗哈拿尼、與猶大數人偕來、我問以猶大俘囚之遺民、及耶路撒冷之事、彼曰、俘囚之遺民、在其州遭難受辱、耶路撒冷城垣傾圮、邑門焚燬、

爾地荒蕪、爾邑焚燬、爾之土壤、外人吞於爾前、為其傾覆、遂致荒涼、錫安女見遺、猶葡萄園之廬、瓜田之舍、被圍之邑、

是時必有大難、自世之始迄今未有、後亦無之、若非減其日、則無得救者、但為選民故、其日將減耳、

枝枯被折、婦至燃之、斯民不慧、造之者不加矜恤、成之者不施恩惠、○

然我必遺困苦貧乏之民於爾中、彼必託庇於耶和華之名、

耶和華曰、四境之內、三分之二、將見絕滅而亡、三分之一、必得存留、其三分之一、我將使之經火、煉之若銀、煆之若金、彼必呼籲我名、而我應之、我則曰、彼為我民、彼則曰、耶和華乃我上帝也、

假令其中尚存什一、亦被焚燬、若栗與橡、經伐留幹、其幹乃聖裔也、

謂之曰、希西家云、今乃急難譴責羞辱之日、子臨產、而無力出之、亞述王遣拉伯沙基侮維生之上帝、爾上帝耶和華或聞其言、加以譴責、請爾為此遺民祈禱、

攻爾之迦勒底人、爾縱擊其全軍、惟遺受創者於其中、彼必自幕而起、火焚斯邑、○
