時、其人答答或作發誓曰、我不能為治者、我家無衣無食、毋立我為民長、

But in that day he will cry out,“ I have no remedy. I have no food or clothing in my house; do not make me the leader of the people.”

He will protest on that day, saying,“ I will not be your healer, For in my house there is neither bread nor cloak; You should not appoint me ruler of the people.”

When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to Assyria, and sent to king Jareb: but he is not able to heal you, neither will he cure you of your wound.

And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul loathed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and, behold, dismay!

Come, and let us return unto Jehovah; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
