民必降格、聲勿揚、若為神所憑者、其音微細、若從地出、

Brought low, you will speak from the ground; your speech will mumble out of the dust. Your voice will come ghostlike from the earth; out of the dust your speech will whisper.

You will be brought down to the grave. You will speak from deep down inside the ground. Your words will be barely heard out of the dust. Your voice will sound like the voice of a ghost coming from under the ground. Your words will sound like a whisper out of the dust.”

Then deep from the earth you will speak; from low in the dust your words will come. Your voice will whisper from the ground like a ghost conjured up from the grave.

And when they say to you,“ Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?

For Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah has fallen, because their speech and their deeds are against the Lord, defying his glorious presence.

For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly clings to the ground.

The haughty looks of man shall be brought low, and the lofty pride of men shall be humbled, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.For the Lord of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up— and it shall be brought low;against all the cedars of Lebanon, lofty and lifted up; and against all the oaks of Bashan;against all the lofty mountains, and against all the uplifted hills;against every high tower, and against every fortified wall;against all the ships of Tarshish, and against all the beautiful craft.And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled, and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.And the idols shall utterly pass away.And people shall enter the caves of the rocks and the holes of the ground, from before the terror of the Lord, and from the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to terrify the earth.In that day mankind will cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats,to enter the caverns of the rocks and the clefts of the cliffs, from before the terror of the Lord, and from the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to terrify the earth.

and I will put it into the hand of your tormentors, who have said to you,‘ Bow down, that we may pass over’; and you have made your back like the ground and like the street for them to pass over.”

Her uncleanness was in her skirts; she took no thought of her future; therefore her fall is terrible; she has no comforter.“ O Lord, behold my affliction, for the enemy has triumphed!”
