因為殘暴的人歸於無有，傲慢的人已經滅絕，一切存心作惡的都被剪除。

因為強橫人必歸於無有；褻慢人必消滅掉；一切靜伺機會以行奸惡的必都被剪除；

因為強橫者必歸於無有，譏諷者必滅絕，所有伺機做壞事的都必被剪除。

蓋強暴者已滅、侮慢者已亡、乘機為惡者盡絕、

強暴者已滅、侮慢者已亡、聽訟者枉法以害貧、健訟者誣良以害義、此皆為惡之徒也、茲已俱絕、

蓋強暴者已已或作必下同滅、侮慢者已亡、務惡者已絕、

The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down—

Those who don’t show any pity will vanish. Those who make fun of others will disappear. All those who look for ways to do what is evil will be cut off.

For the ruthless shall come to nothing and the scoffer cease, and all who watch to do evil shall be cut off,

The scoffer will be gone, the arrogant will disappear, and those who plot evil will be killed.

For the ruthless one will vanish, the scorner will disappear, and all those who lie in wait with evil intent will be killed—

For the ruthless will come to an end and the scorner will be finished, Indeed all who are intent on doing evil will be eliminated,

For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scoffer ceaseth, and all they that watch for iniquity are cut off;

For the ruthless one will vanish, the scorner will disappear, and all those who lie in wait with evil intent will be killed—

For tyrants will disappear, those who taunt will vanish, and all those who love to do wrong will be eliminated–

Woe to those who devise iniquity, And work out evil on their beds! At morning light they practice it, Because it is in the power of their hand.

Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him.

Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you scornful men, Who rule this people who are in Jerusalem,Because you have said,“ We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we are in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, It will not come to us, For we have made lies our refuge, And under falsehood we have hidden ourselves.”Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily.Also I will make justice the measuring line, And righteousness the plummet; The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the hiding place.Your covenant with death will be annulled, And your agreement with Sheol will not stand; When the overflowing scourge passes through, Then you will be trampled down by it.As often as it goes out it will take you; For morning by morning it will pass over, And by day and by night; It will be a terror just to understand the report.”For the bed is too short to stretch out on, And the covering so narrow that one cannot wrap himself in it.For the Lord will rise up as at Mount Perazim, He will be angry as in the Valley of Gibeon— That He may do His work, His awesome work, And bring to pass His act, His unusual act.Now therefore, do not be mockers, Lest your bonds be made strong; For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts, A destruction determined even upon the whole earth.

“ Moreover the multitude of your foes Shall be like fine dust, And the multitude of the terrible ones Like chaff that passes away; Yes, it shall be in an instant, suddenly.

I have commanded My sanctified ones; I have also called My mighty ones for My anger— Those who rejoice in My exaltation.”

So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.And He said to the man who had the withered hand,“ Step forward.”Then He said to them,“ Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.

So they watched Him, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, that they might seize on His words, in order to deliver Him to the power and the authority of the governor.Then they asked Him, saying,“ Teacher, we know that You say and teach rightly, and You do not show personal favoritism, but teach the way of God in truth:Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”But He perceived their craftiness, and said to them,“ Why do you test Me?

“ After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.

Then Herod, with his men of war, treated Him with contempt and mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.

For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, A bitter and hasty nation Which marches through the breadth of the earth, To possess dwelling places that are not theirs.They are terrible and dreadful; Their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.

No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven,“ Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying,“ He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.”

But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd,“ There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”The Lord then answered him and said,“ Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound— think of it— for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.

For You have been a strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shade from the heat; For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.You will reduce the noise of aliens, As heat in a dry place; As heat in the shadow of a cloud, The song of the terrible ones will be diminished.

But thus says the Lord:“ Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, And the prey of the terrible be delivered; For I will contend with him who contends with you, And I will save your children.

And you forget the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens And laid the foundations of the earth; You have feared continually every day Because of the fury of the oppressor, When he has prepared to destroy. And where is the fury of the oppressor?

So the scribes and Pharisees watched Him closely, whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him.

And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,“ Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

“ Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet;and the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, before which three fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke pompous words, whose appearance was greater than his fellows.“ I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them,until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.“ Thus he said:‘ The fourth beast shall be A fourth kingdom on earth, Which shall be different from all other kingdoms, And shall devour the whole earth, Trample it and break it in pieces.The ten horns are ten kings Who shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first ones, And shall subdue three kings.He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time.
