For the ruthless will come to an end and the scorner will be finished, Indeed all who are intent on doing evil will be eliminated,

因為，強暴人已歸無有，褻慢人已經滅絕，一切找機會作孽的都被剪除。

因為殘暴的人歸於無有，傲慢的人已經滅絕，一切存心作惡的都被剪除。

殘暴之徒必消失，嘲諷者必絕跡，所有心懷不軌者必被剷除。

因為強橫人必歸於無有；褻慢人必消滅掉；一切靜伺機會以行奸惡的必都被剪除；

因為強橫者必歸於無有，譏諷者必滅絕，所有伺機做壞事的都必被剪除。

蓋強暴者已滅、侮慢者已亡、乘機為惡者盡絕、

強暴者已滅、侮慢者已亡、聽訟者枉法以害貧、健訟者誣良以害義、此皆為惡之徒也、茲已俱絕、

蓋強暴者已已或作必下同滅、侮慢者已亡、務惡者已絕、

The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down—

Those who don’t show any pity will vanish. Those who make fun of others will disappear. All those who look for ways to do what is evil will be cut off.

For the ruthless shall come to nothing and the scoffer cease, and all who watch to do evil shall be cut off,

The scoffer will be gone, the arrogant will disappear, and those who plot evil will be killed.

For the ruthless one will vanish, the scorner will disappear, and all those who lie in wait with evil intent will be killed—

For the terrible one is brought to nothing, The scornful one is consumed, And all who watch for iniquity are cut off—

For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scoffer ceaseth, and all they that watch for iniquity are cut off;

For the ruthless one will vanish, the scorner will disappear, and all those who lie in wait with evil intent will be killed—

For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:

For tyrants will disappear, those who taunt will vanish, and all those who love to do wrong will be eliminated–

For the ruthless is brought to nothing, and the scoffer ceases, and all those who are alert to do evil are cut off—

Woe to those who devise wrongdoing, Who practice evil on their beds! When morning comes, they do it, Because it is in the power of their hands.

Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and were ridiculing Him.

Therefore, hear the word of the Lord, you scoffers, Who rule this people who are in Jerusalem,Because you have said,“ We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we have made a pact. The gushing flood will not reach us when it passes by, Because we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception.”Therefore this is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, I am laying a stone in Zion, a tested stone, A precious cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. The one who believes in it will not be disturbed.I will make justice the measuring line And righteousness the level; Then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the secret place.Your covenant with death will be canceled, And your pact with Sheol will not stand; When the gushing flood passes through, Then you will become its trampling ground.As often as it passes through, it will seize you; For morning after morning it will pass through, anytime during the day or night, And it will be sheer terror to understand what it means.”The bed is too short on which to stretch out, And the blanket is too small to wrap oneself in.For the Lord will rise up as at Mount Perazim, He will be stirred up as in the Valley of Gibeon, To do His task, His unusual task, And to work His work, His extraordinary work.And now do not carry on as scoffers, Or your shackles will be made stronger; For I have heard from the Lord God of armies Of decisive destruction on all the earth.

But the multitude of your enemies will become like fine dust, And the multitude of the ruthless ones like the chaff which blows away; And it will happen instantly, suddenly.

I have commanded My consecrated ones, I have also called for My warriors Who boast in My eminence, To execute My anger.

And they were watching Him closely to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.He* said to the man with the withered hand,“ Get up and come forward!”And He* said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do harm, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent.After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He* said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.The Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians against Him, as to how they might put Him to death.

And so they watched Him closely, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, in order that they might catch Him in some statement, so that they could hand Him over to the jurisdiction and authority of the governor.And the spies questioned Him, saying,“ Teacher, we know that You speak and teach correctly, and You are not partial to anyone, but You teach the way of God on the basis of truth.Is it permissible for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”But He saw through their trickery and said to them,

After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed, and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.

And Herod, together with his soldiers, treated Him with contempt and mocked Him, dressing Him in a brightly shining robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.

For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, That grim and impetuous people Who march throughout the earth, To take possession of dwelling places that are not theirs.They are terrifying and feared; Their justice and authority originate with themselves.

No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly. They trust in confusion and speak lies; They conceive trouble and give birth to disaster.

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,“ Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night.

And the people stood by, watching. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying,“ He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, His Chosen One.”

But the synagogue leader, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response,“ There are six days during which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”But the Lord answered him and said,“ You hypocrites, does each of you on the Sabbath not untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it away to water it?And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this restraint on the Sabbath day?”And as He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him.

For You have been a stronghold for the helpless, A stronghold for the poor in his distress, A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the breath of the ruthless Is like a rain storm against a wall.Like heat in a dry land, You subdue the uproar of foreigners; Like heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is silenced.

Indeed, this is what the Lord says:“ Even the captives of the mighty man will be taken away, And the prey of a tyrant will be rescued; For I will contend with the one who contends with you, And I will save your sons.

That you have forgotten the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens And laid the foundations of the earth, That you fear continually all day long because of the fury of the oppressor, As he makes ready to destroy? And where is the rage of the oppressor?

Now the scribes and the Pharisees were watching Him closely to see if He healed on the Sabbath, so that they might find a reason to accuse Him.

But some of the scribes were sitting there and thinking it over in their hearts,“ Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins except God alone?”

“ Then I desired to know the exact meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its claws of bronze, and which devoured, crushed, and trampled down the remainder with its feet,and the meaning of the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, and before which three of the horns fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth uttering great boasts, and which was larger in appearance than its associates.I kept looking, and that horn was waging war with the saints and prevailing against them,until the Ancient of Days came and judgment was passed in favor of the saints of the Highest One, and the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom.“ This is what he said:‘ The fourth beast will be a fourth kingdom on the earth which will be different from all the other kingdoms, and will devour the whole earth and trample it down and crush it.As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings will arise; and another will arise after them, and he will be different from the previous ones and will humble three kings.And he will speak against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be handed over to him for a time, times, and half a time.
